SC stays deportation order of international filmmaker Sterry

The Supreme Court on Tuesday stayed the deportation order issued against international filmmaker Craig Maxwell Sterry, estranged husband of supermodel Ujjawala Raut.

A Bench of Justices BN Agarwal and GS Singhvi directed the Bombay High Court to decide by 14 September writ petition filed by Sterry, challenging the cancellation of his PIO (Persons of Indian Origin) card.

According to Sterry, the cancellation of the PIO card which would eventually lead to his deportation, has been done by the authority at the behest of his estranged wife who allegedly wanted to settle personal scores with him.

Oscar winning actress Penelope Cruz and director are "like lovers" despite the fact that the filmmaker is gay.The actress and the director have collaborated on several films - most recently `Broken Embraces` - and know each other so well they are practically in a relationship, Femalefirst reported.

"There is something that works really well in our relationship that combines both our friendship and the professional side. We operate like lovers. So while we don`t have the pleasure of sex, we don`t have the complications of sex either. We work really well as a couple who don`t sleep together," Almodovar said.

Cruz- who is currently dating Javier Bardem and is rumoured to be pregnant - also views her relationship with Almodovar as more than just a friendship.

"There is no one even close to him. I am always comparing everything to working with him," the actress said.

Almodovar has previously spoken of his admiration for Cruz, revealing that she is the only woman who has sparked feelings in him.

"Out of all the actresses I have worked with, Penelope has been the one who has caused a sense of desire in me beyond the sensuality of a film shoot. She has caused me sexual desire," the director said.

Robert Pattinson shower curtain offers female fans chance to be close to him

‘Twilight’ star Robert Pattinson’s face has been emblazoned on a shower curtain, which is expected to gain popularity among his female fans.

The young English actor can be seen with his recognisable tousled hair and rugged jawline on the hand-painted curtain.

The black and white curtains sold like hot cakes when they were first put up for sale on Etsy, the craft website, in June.

The Toronto manufacturer is presently said to be out of stock.

According to reports, each curtain comes fitted with hook holes to allow it to be hung up in any bath or shower.

The curtain’s maker insists that it can also be displayed as a work of art.

"Hand-painted with a brush just like a piece of art. Hang it in your shower, on your wall, in a window, behind your bed as a headboard, or frame it and display it just like any art portrait in your home," the Telegraph quoted the listing as stating.

Pattinson has become one of the most desired actors on planet since starring as Edward Cullen in the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer`s teenage fantasy novel.

Jordan named `Most Dangerous Cyberspace Celebrity` in UK

Katie Price, who recently split from hubby Peter Andre, has been named Britain`s "Most Dangerous Celebrity In Cyberspace`` by Internet researchers.

Computer protection company McAfee looked at popular search engines such as Google and Yahoo! in assessing the risk by clicking on celebrity-related website links.

The company has said that cybercriminals are using A-listers` names and images to lure Internet users who surf the Web for the latest gossip, screen savers and ringtones to "fake" Web sites that look legitimate.

Such sites could be loaded with spyware collecting information about users without their knowledge, and viruses that can infiltrate computers, with the goal of making money and committing ID theft.

McAfee found that fans searching the web for the latest gossip on Katie, aka Jordan, and her newfound relationship with cage fighter Alex Reid have a one in six chance of clicking on a "risky" website.

Jude Law had the second highest percentage of related websites targeted by cybercrooks.

Victoria Beckham`s new role on American Idol made her the third most risky celebrities online in the UK.

Kate Moss came fourth in the list, while David Beckham`s fall out with LA Galaxy fans ensured that he secured the fifth position.

"Cybercrooks capitalising on the public obsession with celebrities and current events is nothing new..." the Telegraph quoted Greg Day, McAfee`s principal security analyst, as saying.

He added: "A quick flick across the front pages of the latest popular newspapers and magazines offers a fairly reliable snapshot of where the criminals will focus their efforts next."

Here are the top 10 `risky` British celebrities and the percentage of websites related to them, which were found to be potentially harmful:

1. Katie Price - 16.3 per cent
2. Jude Law - 15.4

Dannii Minogue extremely happy with new love

Australian singer Dannii Minogue has confessed that she is extremely happy with her new found love, Kris Smith, a British male model.

"I’ve never been happier. I am just so, so in love. For the first year, we’ve been working out how to be together because our jobs are so crazy and all over the place,” the Daily Telegraph quoted her as having told the Daily Mirror newspaper in the UK.

She said: "But I know he’s The One. That’s all I can say - he is The One. I adore my boyfriend."

She apparently met Smith, a former British rugby league player, while on a holiday in Spain a year ago.

“We’ve just had our one-year anniversary. I surprised him and flew out from London to Sydney for his birthday,” the beauty who is a judge on the Seven Network`s Australia`s Got Talent and Britain`s X Factor added.

“He had a big fashion show there and it took a month of planning. It’s hard to surprise someone when there are people reporting where you are. But it worked - I did surprise him.

“It was just incredible. And then to go into midnight when it was his birthday and our anniversary was awesome - he got me a beautiful necklace,” she added.

The couple have even discussed marriage, but they intend to take it slow.

"I guess we’ve talked about marriage but we’re trying to take things slowly. I think it’s a guy’s thing to propose, although I haven’t really thought about the details.

"I guess at my age I have to start thinking about babies at some time. But to be honest, I’m just enjoying being so wildly in love and being so happy.

"I honestly never thought this would happen to me. So I haven’t been thinking too far ahead, just enjoying every day as it happens. But it will come when it comes."

Minogue has divorced from Australian actor Julian Mcmahon fame, apart from being engaged to former Formula 1 racing driver Jacques Villeneuve in the past.

Michael Jackson`s death ruled as homicide

Lethal levels of powerful anaesthetic propofol killed pop star Michael Jackson, according to the preliminary findings of coroner which were unsealed in a court in Houston.

The released documents, including search warrants and affidavits filed by the police in July to search the Houston
office and storage unit of Dr Conrad Murray, Jackson`s personal physician, reveal that Murray accepted administering propofol to the pop star to treat his insomnia.

The documents also reveal that Jackson was consuming a "deadly cocktail" of various drugs before his death, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Murray told detectives that he had been giving Jackson 50 milligrams of propofol every night for six weeks but tried to wean Jackson off the drugs by lowering the dosage to 25 milligrams after he realised that the pop star was addicted
to it.

Murray said he was not the first doctor to administer the dangerous sedative to the 50-year-old `King of Pop` as he
was already addicted to it.

Murray also claims in the documents that Jackson was also consuming prescriptions given by other doctors and when asked about it the pop star declined to provide the information. In his bid to counter Jackson`s dependency on propofol, Murray said he mixed it with two other sedatives, lorazepam and midazolam. On June 23, two days before Jackson`s death, Murray administered those two medications and withheld the propofol.

On the morning Jackson died, Murray tried to induce sleep without using propofol, according to the affidavit.

He said he gave Jackson valium at 1:30 am. When that didn`t work, he said, he injected lorazepam intravenously at 2
am. At 3 am, when Jackson was still awake, Murray administered midazolam.

Over the next few hours, Murray said he gave Jackson various drugs. Then at 10.40 am, Murray administered 25 milligrams of propofol after Jackson repeatedly demanded the drug, according to the court records.

Murray told authorities he left Jackson`s bedside for no more than two minutes before returning to find the pop star not breathing. When he returned at 11 am he saw that Jackson
wasn`t breathing. He immediately began attempting to revive
Jackson, administering CPR as well as a drug to reverse the effects of the sedative.

But police are questioning that account. Cellphone records for the morning of June 25 show Murray made three separate phone calls for approximately 47 minutes beginning at 11.18 am. Murray said he called Jackson`s personal assistant to request that they send security upstairs. After a few minutes without a response, Murray told authorities he ran downstairs to the kitchen. He asked the chef to send Jackson`s eldest son, Prince Jackson, upstairs.

Dr Murray waited about 82 minutes before anyone called paramedics to the home, according to the court documents.

He said he continued CPR and waited for the arrival of paramedics.

Much of the investigation has focused on propofol and whether Murray`s decision to give it to Jackson as a sleep aid outside a hospital setting reaches a level of negligence required for an involuntary manslaughter charge.

The new development confirms what has long been suspected in Jackson`s death eight weeks ago but has raised further questions about the treatment of the pop star during his last days as he struggled to prepare himself for his extensive comeback shows.

“I was trying to listen to the cricket in Amsterdam. I was screaming: ‘Australia are all out!’

“I first got interested in cricket about the time I heard Freddie Flintoff had a wee in the Prime Minster`s garden at Downing Street. “I’m an entertainer and my shows last an hour and it’s all very quick - life in the fast lane.

“But I’m not into one-day cricket or Twenty20, I’m into Test matches. I love the five-day slog. I think the Ashes should be seven or nine Test matches rather than five. It should be all-out war all summer".

“I’m a traditionalist. I like the beauty of the game, the whites against the green, and the slow pace. I like so many things about cricket,” she added.

Nick Jonas says he dreams of being president

Teen pop star Nick Jonas, taking a break from touring with his brothers to raise awareness of juvenile diabetes, said he dreams about being US president and may study political science in college.

The 16-year-old singer, songwriter and member of pop trio the Jonas Bros, spoke on Monday to a sold-out audience at the National Press Club, a venue often reserved for presidents, kings and chief executives but for Jonas had many seats occupied by teenage and pre-teen girls.

Jonas talked about raising awareness and funding for juvenile diabetes, a disease he was diagnosed with in 2005.

Asked about recent trips to Washington, the youngest of the Jonas Bros told the crowd "I`ve always had this dream of becoming president one day." He said it was "very cool" and "such an honor" to visit the White House earlier this year.

The brothers made a surprise visit to President Barack Obama`s daughters in January, and Nick Jonas met Obama in June as part of his diabetes efforts.

In an interview with Reuters, Jonas said his talk of wanting to be president was not entirely a tease. "As much as I joke about it and kind of say it to get a laugh, it is somewhat serious. I don`t know if it will happen," he said.

If he goes to college, "I`d probably study English and then political science because I`m interested in it," he said. At the moment, he`s touring with his band and will start shooting for TV show "Camp Rock 2" with his brothers in September.

Jonas told the press club audience he has learned to manage his diabetes while keeping a busy touring schedule but had adjusted his diet to help regulate blood sugar.

A song he wrote about diabetes includes a line saying "You don`t know what you got `til it`s gone," and an audience member asked Jonas what he was referring to.

"Probably chocolate cake," he joked.

Jonas said he still eats his favorite foods but closely monitors his diet. There have been "one or two moments" during concerts when he asked his brothers to talk a bit longer on stage while he stepped away to check his sugar levels. He wears a diabetic insulin pump on his lower back while performs.

In response to questions, Jonas said he does not currently have a girlfriend and would consider dating a fan.

"I didn`t know I was going to get in a suit today and have to talk about that kind of stuff," he said with a smile.

Vosovic campaigns for Kidman to wear dress

Fashion designer Daniel Vosovic has someone very A-list in mind for the winning dress he created for the `Project Runway: All-Star Challenge.`

Vosovic dreams of getting none other than Nicole Kidman to wear the elegant black-and-white ensemble that secured his victory on Thursday`s special edition of the fashion-competition franchise.

Vosovic says he feels the urge to start a Web site for his case. Because, as he puts it, `I WANT that woman in my dress.`

The style-savvy actress helped set up a design contest for Vosovic and seven other top contestants from past "Runway" seasons. In a video message, Kidman asked them to create a red carpet-ready look for the upcoming premiere of her film "Nine," which also stars Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard and Kate Hudson.

She didn`t say who`d wear the chosen dress.

"As excited as we were, we certainly got it," he said. "I mean, she has an international image to uphold. ... I think that she just wanted to have a little bit of a look, so hopefully she`s watching the show, she loves what I did and she`ll want to wear the dress."

Representatives for Kidman could not immediately be reached for comment Friday.

Vosovic, 28, is planning to debut his namesake collection at New York Fashion Week in February. He recently published a book, "Fashion Inside Out."

He was booted from "Project Runway" in 2006 after making it to the final round. Armed with more experience and confidence, Vosovic was happy to return for another shot at the title of top designer and the $100,000 grand prize. He out-sewed the competition on the one-episode challenge with four looks that were notably edgier than his understated designs on season two.

He says Michael Kors, one of the show`s judges alongside Heidi Klum and Nina Garcia, once told him he created beautiful clothes that women want to wear but he was still learning how to put on a show.

"As harsh and real and honest as that was, I learned from it," he says. "And I learned, that, you know, sometimes you gotta turn up the volume a little bit."

Coroner says Jackson died from lethal dose of propofol

Michael Jackson`s death has been ruled a homicide caused by a mix of drugs meant to treat insomnia, a law enforcement official told reporters, while his personal doctor told investigators he was actually trying to wean the King of Pop off the powerful anesthetic that did him in.Forensic tests found the anesthetic propofol combined with at least two sedatives to kill Jackson, according to the official, who spoke Monday on condition of anonymity because the findings have not been publicly released. Based on those tests, the Los Angeles County Coroner has ruled the death a homicide, the official said.

The coroner`s homicide ruling does not necessarily mean a crime was committed. But it makes it more likely criminal charges will be filed against Dr. Conrad Murray, the Las Vegas cardiologist who was caring for the pop star when he died June 25 in a rented Los Angeles mansion.

Through his lawyer, Murray has said he administered nothing that "should have" killed Jackson.

Murray told investigators that Jackson stopped breathing about 10 minutes after he relented and finally gave in to his patient`s demands for propofol around 10:40 a.m., following a night-long regimen of sedatives that did not work, according to court documents unsealed Monday.

A search warrant affidavit unsealed in Houston, where Los Angeles police took materials from one of Murray`s clinics last month as part of their manslaughter investigation, includes a detailed account of what detectives say Murray told them. Manslaughter is homicide without malice or premeditation.

The doctor said he`d been treating Jackson for insomnia for about six weeks with 50 milligrams of propofol every night via an intravenous drip, the affidavit said. Murray said he feared Jackson was becoming addicted to the anesthetic, which is supposed to be used only in hospitals and other advanced medical settings, so he had lowered the dose to 25 milligrams and added the sedatives lorazepam and midazolam.

That combination had succeeded in helping Jackson sleep two days prior to his death. So the next day, Murray told detectives, he cut off the propofol — and Jackson fell asleep with just the two sedatives.

Then around 1:30 a.m. on June 25, starting with a 10-milligram tablet of Valium, Murray said he tried a series of drugs instead of propofol to make Jackson sleep. The injections included two milligrams of lorazepam around 2 a.m., two milligrams of midazolam around 3 a.m., and repeats of each at 5 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. respectively.

They didn`t work.

Murray told detectives that around 10:40 a.m. he gave in to Jackson`s "repeated demands/requests" for propofol, which the singer called his "milk," according to the affidavit. He administered 25 milligrams of the white-colored liquid — a relatively small dose — and finally, Jackson fell asleep.

Murray remained with the sedated Jackson for about 10 minutes, then left for the bathroom, the affidavit said. Less than two minutes later, Murray returned — and found Jackson had stopped breathing.

Cell phone records show three separate calls from Murray`s phone for between 11:18 a.m. and 12:05 p.m., the affidavit said. It`s not clear who received the calls. Murray had told authorities he was administering CPR during that time.

In a statement posted late Monday on his firm`s Web site, Murray`s attorney Edward Chernoff questioned the timeline as depicted in the affidavit, calling it "police theory."

"Dr. Murray simply never told investigators that he found Michael Jackson at 11:00 a.m. not breathing," Chernoff said. He declined to comment on the homicide ruling, saying, "We will be happy to address the coroner`s report when it is officially released."

The coroner`s office has withheld its autopsy findings, citing a request from police to wait until their investigation is complete.

It is no surprise that such a combination of medications could kill someone, said Dr. David Zvara, anesthesia chairman at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

"All those drugs act in synergy with each other," Zvara said. Adding propofol on top of the other sedatives could have "tipped the balance" by depressing Jackson`s breathing and ultimately stopping his heart.

The 25 milligrams of propofol "is not a whopping amount," said Lee Cantrell, director of the San Diego division of the California Poison Control System. It was the cocktail of the other sedatives, known as benzodiazepines, that "may have been the trigger that pushed him over the edge," Cantrell said.

Cantrell said it`s perplexing that someone would give various benzodiazepines if one was found not to be effective.

"This is horrible polypharmacy," he said, referring to the interaction between the various drugs. "No one will treat an insomniac like this."

The affidavit, signed by a judge July 20, said that the coroner`s office chief medical examiner told police his review of preliminary toxicology results showed "lethal levels of propofol."

Besides the propofol and two sedatives, the coroner`s toxicology report found other substances in Jackson`s system but they were not believed to have been a factor in the singer`s death, the official told the AP.

Murray didn`t tell paramedics or doctors at UCLA hospital where Jackson was rushed about any drugs he administered other than lorazepam and flumazenil, a "rescue drug" to counteract problems from too much lorazepam, according to the affidavit.

It was only during a subsequent interview with Los Angeles Police detectives that Murray gave a more full accounting of the events leading up to the 911 call, the document said.

A call to the coroner`s office was not returned Monday. A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles District Attorney`s said no case had been presented so the office had nothing to comment on.

The line between safe and dangerous doses of propofol is thin, and according to the drug`s guidelines a trained professional must always stay bedside.

Word that Jackson was given the drug to help him sleep startled the medical community, not the least because the setting was his rented mansion. Home use of propofol is virtually unheard of — safe administration requires both a specially trained anesthesiologist and an array of lifesaving equipment. Murray was trained as a heart doctor, not a pain and sedation specialist.

At Jackson`s bedside were pill bottles for other drugs prescribed by Murray and two other doctors, the document says. The medicines include a variety of anti-insomnia drugs, a muscle relaxant and a drug for urinary problems from an enlarged prostate.

Investigators found about eight bottles of propofol in Jackson`s home along with numerous other medications, according to the affidavit. Murray told investigators he didn`t order or buy any propofol, but investigators served a search warrant Aug. 11 at a Las Vegas pharmacy and uncovered evidence showing Murray legally purchased from the store the propofol he gave Jackson the day he died.

When he died, Jackson was skinny but not overly emaciated, and his body had bed sores, the official said. The singer is believed to have developed bed sores in the months following his 2005 acquittal of child molestation charges, when he went into seclusion and spent long stretches in bed.

Jackson`s family released a statement Monday, saying it has "full confidence" in the legal process and the efforts of investigators. It concludes: "The family looks forward to the day that justice can be served."

Brad Pitt has no plans to team-up with Angelina Jolie

Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt has revealed that he has no plans to collaborate with partner and actress Angelina Jolie on the big screen again until there comes a "new, challenging" story.
Hollywood`s hottest couple said to have fallen in love after appearing in `Mr & Mrs Smith` together in 2005, while the hunk was still married to `Friends` star Jennifer Aniston.

Since then, they have set up home together and a family with six children - three adopted and three biological kids, Contactmusic reported.

But despite the fact they could spend more time together on-set, Pitt said that he wouldn`t be too keen on jumping into another film with Jolie.

"It would be tricky for us to work together because so much baggage comes with it. We would have to be really precise on what that would be but we are certainly open to the idea," Pitt said.

"You`re always looking for something a little different to what you`ve done before. I`m just looking for a new challenge, a new story. I can`t define it much more than that," he added.

Renee Zellweger engaged to heartthrob Bradley Cooper?

Hollywood`s latest star couple, Renee Zellweger and Bradley Cooper, is officially engaged, according to a new report.

It has been claimed that Cooper has taken the actress to meet his parents in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania to inform them about their engagement, Glamorati.com reported.

The `Chicago` actress reportedly has been spotted sporting "a simple but elegant diamond ring", yet managed to take it off when she had to appear in "Late Show with David Letterman" on Thursday.

Zellweger, 40, and Cooper, 34, who are co-stars in upcoming horror-thriller "Case 39", have become the centre of media attention for quite sometime due to their alleged romance.

Never openly admitting their relationship, the two have been photographed getting cosy during a stay in Barcelona, Spain recently. However, they never appear together in public once they got back to US.

Both Zellweger and Cooper have each married before.

The actress was married to country music singer Kenny Chesney from May to December 2005. While Cooper was married to actress Jennifer Esposito in December 2006. Four months later they split before then having their divorce finalised in November 2007.
