Kruger escapes arrest by Oz police for sleeping in car

German actress Diane Kruger escaped arrest during a recent road trip across Australia with boyfriend actor Joshua Jackson, after they were found sleeping in their car by the police.

Kruger, 33, and Jackson, 31, were on holiday Down Under when they found themselves stranded without a place to stay in between destinations, so they parked their car and slept in it for the night.

But Kruger was stunned when she woke up, and found cops tapping on her window.

“I’d never been (to Australia). We didn’t make reservations anywhere, we just got in a car and started driving,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.

“And then of course, every once in a while we couldn’t find a hotel, so we’d sleep in the car - which was not fun for me, but fun for him.

“It’s not (legal). The police knocked on the car windows at five in the morning and he didn’t wake up. I had to talk to the police officer and he was very nice and he let me go,” she added.

German beauty Diane Kruger has kicked off rumours that she may get married to boyfriend Joshua Jackson after a diamond band was spotted on her ring finger.

Kruger was attending a special screening of her new movie ‘Inglourious Basterds’ at New York`s Museum of Jewish Heritage when she was spotted with the rock, reports Contactmusic.

Two weeks ago, the stunner had said: "I won`t ever marry again. Does it matter if you sign a piece of paper? It doesn`t make it last. I would get married to Josh at 60 if we were still together because then it really means something if you say it`s for life."

The Troy actress has been going out with Jackson after she split from husband Guillaume Canet in 2006.

The star’s representative didn’t comment on the issue.
