HC rejects plea seeking cancellation of Adnan`s bail

The Bombay High Court today turned down a plea by singer Adnan Sami`s estranged wife seeeking cancellation of the anticipatory bail granted to him.Saba had earlier filed a case of harassment against Adnan following which he had sought anticipatory bail from vacation bench of High Court in May this year.

Saba had complained that Adnan used to beat her and was trying to blackmail her with photographs and a VCD. But the High Court had observed in May that there was

only an apprehension that photographs and VCD may be misused and that no actual incident had occurred.

Justice A P Deshpande today refused to entertain Saba`s application seeking cancellation of anticipatory bail.

Workaholic Priyanka takes a well-deserved break after 6 yrs

Having worked her way to the top slot after churning hits after hits, the ‘fashion’-able queen bee of Bollywood, Priyanka Chopra, has decided to take a much-needed break from the filmdom rat race in a bid to calm her nerves. With several superhits in her kitty toped by the current blockbuster ‘Kaminey’, Priyanka is all geared up to jet set for a rejuvenating vacation after 6 yrs of toiling in B-town.The sizzler, who is now secure of her strong standing in the industry, had been suffering form severe exhaustion and had even fuelled rumours of fainting on the sets. So much so was the actress under stress that she was even seen going in and out of hospital.

But now the actress has decided to refuel her energy tank as she told reporters, “I needed this holiday for a while. I am listening to my doctors, that is, my parents. I am very excited about the holiday.”

And her father, Dr Ashok Chopra is much too relieved for her daughter. Speaking to reporters he said, “My daughter has gone on a well-deserved break. I cannot disclose the location, but she has gone eastwards. My wife and I will join her after five or six days.”

As for her health her close pals state that the actress is doing much better now. “Priyanka’s health is better now and she is happy with the way ‘Kaminey’ has fared. She needed to be away from Mumbai. She had earlier been on a couple of short breaks, but for the first time in her six years in Bollywood, she will be gone for more than two weeks”, said the pal.

Ranvir not getting married to Konkona

Rubbishing the recent reports which claimed that he is all set to tie the knot with Konkona Sen Sharma, actor Ranvir Shorey says that he has no plans of getting married to anyone.

Ranvir has put an end to the news of his entering into wedlock with long time girlfriend Konkona Sen Sharma in December, saying he has no plans to settle down in near future.

Recently a rumour of the duo getting hitched had started doing rounds, it was also said that the couple had decided to take their relationship to the next level and will tie the knot on December 27. Grapevine has it that Konkona`s mother, actress-turned-director Aparna Sen, is busy putting together trousseau for her daughter in Kolkata.

Ranvir and Konkona have been an item for over four years now, but have never been too vocal about their relationship.

Britney’s snooper sentenced to 3yr probation, 240hrs community service

Peeping into Britney Spears` home in California has landed a woman three years’ probation, and a court order do 240 hours of community service.Miranda Tozier-Robbins, 26, was arrested in April after being spotted by Britney’s security guards in the grounds of the singer’s Calabasas property.

Britney was out of the town on her ‘Circus’ world tour at the time.

Miranda, who claimed that she was filming a documentary, was charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct on August 20.

Patricia Kelly, a spokeswoman for Los Angeles Superior Court, revealed that a judge in Malibu found her guilty of snooping on Spears` property, reports Contactmusic.

Tozier-Robbins was also ordered to keep away from the singer and her house.

Jude Law `can`t remember pregnant Samantha Burke after fling’

Actor Jude Law claims he doesn’t remember Samantha Burke who’s pregnant with his child, it has emerged.

Burke’s pals say the American model hasn’t been in touch with Law after their fling in Manhattan last year, reports the Herald Sun.

An unnamed pal told a website “She met him at a club in New York. He was sick, so she kept going to his hotel over the course of a week to take care of him.

“But Jude didn`t even remember her. She hasn`t seen him since New York. They`ve only been in contact through their lawyers.”

The friend also said Burke was ‘crazy’ to go on with the pregnancy.

It is believed that the 24-year-old Burke has requested for 5,900 pounds a month in maintenance for yet to be born child.

Law had earlier said he would be a ‘fully supportive part of the child’s life.’

The 36-year-old actor is already father to three children with his ex-wife Sadie Frost.

Drug scandal hit Katona ‘to be quizzed by social services’

Drug scandal hit Kerry Katona will be questioned by social services after her return back home from holiday in Tenerife, it has emerged.Child welfare officers will also speak to two of her children about the video that shows their mother snorting cocaine.

The seven-year-old Molly and one year younger Lilly Sue are believed to have been in the Cheshire mansion when Katona took coke.

Katona’s life is in shambles ever since her coke snorting tape went public.

She lost out on her major source of income, a lucrative 250,000 pounds deal from frozen food giant Iceland. To add to her problems is a police probe and the fear of going bankrupt. And now she’s afraid she may lose the custody of her daughters to ex hubby Brian McFadden.

The 28-year-old former Atomic Kitten was quoted by the Sun as telling a pal: "I can`t believe this is happening. I`m not going to let them take my kids."

McFadden, who lives in Australia with fiancée Delta Goodrem, is expected file for the children’s custody soon.

Lindsay Lohan caught in a romantic competition

Actress Lindsay Lohan needs to watch out as singer Aubrey O`Day has her eyes on the star`s girlfriend Samantha Ronson.

Pop singer and reality TV star O`Day has revealed that she has a huge crush on the DJ and believes that two would be "perfect together".

"Every time I see her (Ronson) I want to go over and talk to her, but it`s like she`s going to be like, `You`re that girl that tried to say you`re gay everywhere,` and I`m like, `No, I promise get to know me. We`d be perfect together`," Contactmusic quoted O`Day as telling to Curve, a gay magazine.

The former `Danity Kane` member has taken a potshot at Lohan for all the negative publicity their affair has got. O`day thinks she can keep Ronson more happy than Lohan, giving her the romance she craves for.

Robbie invites girlfriend`s mom to live with them

Mothers-in-law can put a strain on a relationship but Robbie Williams has gone ahead and invited girlfriend Ayda Field`s mom Gwen to move in with them in his mansion.

With Williams moving to Britain full-time with his girlfriend ahead of the new album release, he`s keen for Gwen to come too. The singer feels it`s good for American Ayda to have her mum around especially if he`s going to be busy promoting "Reality Killed The Video Star".

"Robbie`s new house is massive and it would be a lonely place to rattle about in on your own. But Ayda and Gwen will have a lot of fun together. There are tennis courts and a gym and some nice countryside. Williams and Gwen bonded over a shared love of poker, and the rocker has been flying her over to Britain from her California home regularly ever since he got the keys to his over $13 million mansion in Wiltshire in January.

Cowell donates $165,000 to dog shelter every year

Talent-hunt show moghul Simon Cowell is so fond of dogs that he donates $165,000 every year to an animal shelter.

Cowell gives the massive sum to "Exorcist" run by actress Linda Blair in Toluca Lake, California because he views it as the next best thing to having his own pet, reported a news website.

"Simon is a huge dog lover but because he`s always travelling he can`t have one. He thought it would be a great idea to help Linda out," said a source.

"He doesn`t like to talk about it as he sees it as a private arrangement," added the source

The shelter cares for neglected and abandoned dogs.

Simon, who has previously judged an RSPCA dog show, has a history of helping animals and has even claimed he plans to leave the bulk of his multi-million dollar fortune to pet shelters.

Andre ‘gets furious over Alex Reid’s doting dad act’

Kate Price’s estranged hubby Peter Andre flew into a rage after seeing photos of his kids with wife’s new lover and spilled his anger in a phone call to her, it has emerged.

Andre is enraged that cage fighter Alex Reid is interfering in his children’s lives and trying to play father to them.

According to insiders, an angry Andre gave a piece of his mind to Price when she called up to speak to the children and then put Alex on the line to chat with four-year-old Junior.

The Mirror quoted a source as saying: “Peter was outraged. He was screaming at Katie, saying ‘He’s not the father of my children’.

“Katie couldn’t believe it. One minute she was chatting to Junior and the next, Peter was on the line incandescent with rage.

“He started accusing her of completely inappropriate behaviour by frolicking with Alex in public in front of the kids.

“He hated the pictures of Junior playing with Alex, saying repeatedly that it ‘wasn’t right’.”

This was the first time in weeks that the couple spoke to each other.

The children were staying with Peter and could speak to their mother during an allocated time.

The source added: “His reaction really stunned Katie. She clearly didn’t appreciate how he was feeling.

“She’s desperately trying to move on with her life and it really set her back emotionally. She just wants to be happy and is sick of confrontation.

“Yes, it must be strange seeing another man with your kids, but she thought Peter could deal with the situation a bit better.

“Peter has always taken his responsibilities as a father very seriously, so she can see where the anger has come from.”

Peter’s spokeswoman said he did never wanted the phone to get leaked.

“But at the same time, he wants to correct untruths – and the reason he was upset was because Katie passed the phone to Alex to speak to Junior,” she added.

She claimed Peter had “remained calm” during the call.

MJ’s burial postponed to August 31

The date for Michael Jackson’s burial has been delayed. The singer will now be laid to rest on August 31.The King of Pop, who died on June 25 at his rented LA mansion, was to be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California, on August 29, on what would have been his 51st birthday.

But the star`s father Joe revealed the date had been pushed back by two days so that the Jacksons could have more time for preparations, reports Contactmusic.

Meanwhile, Jackson’s personal physician, who allegedly administered strong anaesthetic to the music legend before his death, will be charged with manslaughter, it was reported.

Dr Conrad Murray, who apparently admitted giving the sedative Propofol via an IV drip to help the singer sleep, will purportedly be taken into custody within two weeks.

Rani, Priyanka to join Playboy founder as Toronto film fest guests

Bollywood directors Ashutosh Gowariker and Anurag Singh and stars Rani Mukerji, Priyanka Chopra, Lisa Ray and Harman Baweja will rub shoulders with George Clooney, Demi Moore, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and talk show queen Oprah Winfrey at this year`s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) next month.The 34th annual mega-film show will run here from Sep 10-19.

Anurag Singh`s `Dil Bole Hadippa` and Ashutosh Gowariker`s `What`s Your Rashee?` will make their world premiere at the festival.

Announcing the names of 500 guests, including directors, producers, and actors, the organizers also included daytime TV talk show queen Oprah Winfrey, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson in the final list.

Other big names are Nicolas Cage, Sir Ridley Scott, Drew Barrymore, Kevin Spacey, Michael Douglas, Penelope Cruz and Keanu Reeves.

Apart from Gowariker, Anurag Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Baweja, Rani Mukerji, and Lisa Ray, the guest list also includes actor Abhay Deol, filmmaker Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Deepa Mehta`s brother Dilip Mehta, and documentary maker Vikram Jayanti.

Set for release September 18 in India, `Dil Bole Hadippa` is a hilarious drama-comedy with Shahid Kapur (Rohan) and Rani Mukerji (Veera Kaur) in lead roles. It also features Anupam Kher, Dalip Tahil, Rakhi Sawant and Sherlyn Chopra.

`What`s Your Rashee?`, based on Gujarati novel Kimball Ravenswood by Madhu Arya, is a romantic comedy starring Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja.

These two Bollywood films are among 335 from 64 countries to be screened at the festival. These include 271 feature-length films.

About 72 percent of the films to be screened here will make their world or North American premieres.

According to the organizers, 71 directors will make their debut at the film festival, including Drew Barrymore with her comedy film `Whip It!`

Deepa Mehta`s `Heaven on Earth` had its world premiere at the festival last year. Anees Bazmee`s hit `Singh is Kingg` and Nandita Das`s directorial debut `Firaaq` also had their gala premiere last year.

MJ’s gay lover: I’ve lost my soulmate

A chubby guy, who claims to be Michael Jackson’s gay lover, has said that he has lost a soulmate, following the death of the pop legend.

Jason Pfeiffer, who works for the singer’s dermatologist Dr Arnold Klein, briefed how his alleged affair began.

Seemingly, he first got to know the Thriller hitmaker over the phone, after which, one night the icon asked him for a lift home, which led to further clandestine meetings.

"I guess our first `date` was in my car. We went for a drive and were talking and having fun, but Michael had his minders who were `nosey` as Michael put it,” the Sun quoted him as telling Aussie mag Woman`s Day.

He added: "We had to make sure we were not caught, and although the date was short as I had to take him home before anyone noticed, we had a great time.

"I thought nobody else knew, but have since discovered that others did surmise the truth."

However, the 35-year-old said that their love was cut short by Jackson’s sudden death on June 25 this year.

"I`ve lost my soulmate. It`s very hard to describe the loss I feel - but there is something that`s empty in my heart,” he said.

Jason also described how Michael was in person before his death.

He said: "He was overly religious, overly dramatic, exhausting and exhausted.He was saying goodbyes the week before passing. Everyone was creeped out by it.

"Michael got very retrospective in the last few weeks, he was talking about God and the Mayan calendar and the year 2012 - which is when the Mayan calendar ends."

`Queen of Pop` Madonna may have announced that Brazilian model Jesus Luz is the love of her life, but the popstar made her young lover cry by refusing his gift.The `Like A Virgin` singer who recently celebrated her 51st birthday, made her 22-year-old boyfriend cry when she refused to wear jewellery he gifted her, reported Mirror online.

Luz gave the singer a set of South American good-luck bracelets, made of thin ribbons which are said to grant the wearer three wishes when they break.

The singer, who is currently on the `Sticky and Sweet` world tour, told Luz that she could not wear them because they would clash with her Kabbalah bracelets.

"Madonna said that although she loved the bracelets she wouldn`t wear them because they clashed with her Kabbalah bracelets. Jesus was crestfallen and he had words with her,

leading to tears," said a source close to the singer.

Later the same night, the singer praised her young lover in a speech at a party before running across the room to passionately kiss him.

As friends looked on, Madonna gushed, "He`s the love of my life. He has been so strong around me. I can`t thank him enough."

Sienna Miller forgives Anna Wintour after `toothy` controversy

British beauty Sienna Miller has made up with `Vogue` editor Anna Wintour who had slighted the actress earlier calling her `toothy`.The `GI Joe` star posed with the famed fashionista during the red carpet premiere of the documentary `September Issue`, while earlier the two had always maintained their distance when faced with each other, reported a news website.

When Sienna Miller appeared on the September 2007 cover of American Vogue, she was criticised for her "toothy" appearance and "unruly hair" by Wintour.

But it appears the actress has forgiven the Vogue editor for the slights on her personal appearance.
