Pop diva Madonna has received death threats in Serbia.The "Frozen" hit maker has beefed up her security after the threats during her ongoing `Sticky & Sweet` world tour and arrived in Belgrade, Serbia, in disguise to perform her concert in front of 30,000 fans Monday, reports contactmusic.com.

The star took extra precautions after receiving threatening messages from Balkan fanatics, hiring a posse of bodyguards to protect her as she took the stage in the Serbian capital for the first time.

The worried singer will also be accompanied by the stepped up security in neighbouring Romania, where she is set to play a gig Wednesday.

Jackson`s two employees hold vital clues: attorney

Two employees of Michael Jackson, one of whom was with the pop star in his last moments, can throw important light on his death, their attorney said here Tuesday.

Attorney Carl Douglas, who was on the defence team of star footballer O.J. Simpson during his trial in 1993 in the murder of his wife Nicole Simpson, said the two employees were willing to provide information to police.

He said the Los Angeles police department (LAPD) has done only `informal` interviews with the employees and should talk to them in detail, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Michael Amir, Jackson`s chief of staff, and Alberto Alvarez, a security staffer, were interviewed by police June 25, the day Jackson died.

The attorney said the two men could shed new light on not only Jackson`s final hours but also the actions of the pop star`s doctor.

"We arranged two separate occasions for LAPD investigators to meet with my clients. My clients came early wearing suits and ties. The first meeting was cancelled and rescheduled. The second meeting I had to call them to inquire about the (detectives`) absence," the attorney was quoted as saying.

Douglas said Alvarez was with Jackson and his doctor Conrad Murray in the pop star`s bedroom in the critical moments before paramedics arrived, the Los Angeles Times quoted him as saying.

He said Alvarez could provide useful information that would confirm or contradict Dr Murray`s version of events and provide independent insight into what transpired.

In their report Monday, police said Murray gave Jackson the powerful anesthetic Propofol at 10.40 a.m., watched him for 10 minutes and went to the restroom for two minutes.

When he returned at about 11 a.m., Murray found that Jackson had stopped breathing.

Police said three phone calls of 47 minutes were made from Murray`s phone, beginning at 11.18 a.m. The police (911) were called only at 12.22 p.m.

The `King of Pop` died just days before he was to begin his comeback concert tour "This Is It".

Government advised not to challenge Sanjay Dutt`s acquittal

Attorney General Goolam Vahanvati has advised the central government against challenging the acquittal of Bollywood star-cum-politician Sanjay Dutt from terror charges in connection with the 1993 bombings in Mumbai, law ministry sources say.

The sources said Vahanvati gave his view while confirming Solicitor General Gopal Subramanian`s legal opinion in 2007 that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) failed to adduce enough evidence against Dutt for his conviction under terror charges. He was convicted instead for illegal possession of arms.

Accordingly, Subramanian, then functioning as additional solicitor general, had told the government that owing to paucity of evidence linking Dutt to terrorism, the anti-terror court of Mumbai had rightly convicted him for only possessing illegal arms.

Subramanian had accordingly opined that it would not be a sound legal proposition for the government to go in an appeal against the anti-terror law`s court verdict on Sanjay Dutt.

But the government had sought a fresh round of legal opinion from its top law officer on a plea by the CBI.

The investigation agency had wanted to know if its failure to challenge Dutt`s acquittal from terror charges might strengthen the appeals of other terror convicts in the Mumbai serial bombings case.

Dutt, now a Samajwadi Party general secretary, had moved the apex court challenging his conviction for possessing illegal arms. The case relates to the Mumbai bombings that followed the 1992 razing of the Babri mosque in Uttar Pradesh.

Dutt was sentenced to six years of jail July 31, 2007 by the Mumbai anti-terror court of special judge P.D. Kode. He was given bail by the apex court Nov 27, 2007 after the CBI took a lenient view against him and other similarly placed people convicted of charges other than terrorism.

The 1993 terror bombings, which claimed 257 lives, have been blamed on the Mumbai underworld and Pakistani intelligence agencies. Its targets included Mumbai landmarks such as the Bombay Stock Exchange and Air India headquarters.

Brown involved in two `domestic violence` incidents before Rihanna assault

Chris Brown and Rihanna were involved in two different incidents of domestic violence apart from the one major Grammy night instance when the R&B singer assaulted her.

The court documents filed by a probation officer on the case against the ‘Kiss Kiss’ hitmaker mentions that the couple was involved in a furious argument just three weeks before the February incident.

It first took place at Rihanna’s homeland Barbados, while driving in a Range Rover.

"They had an argument inside the car. Brown exited and broke the front driver and passenger side windows of the car. No one was injured during the incident," Contactmusic quoted the statement as stating.

On another occasion, when in Europe the ``Umbrella`` singer slapped Brown and the paper states that he "responded by shoving her into a wall".

However, it was the incident that occurred shortly before the Grammy Awards in Brown`s rented Lamborghini, for which he has been sentenced to six months community labour and five years probation.

Brown pleaded guilty for punching, biting and choking Rihanna.

Winning bidder of USD 4.6M crypt above Monroe`s backs out

The Japanese man who made the winning bid on eBay to buy the crypt above Marilyn Monroe`s grave, at a whopping 4.6 million dollars, apparently cannot afford it.

Beverly Hills widow Elsie Poncher, whose dead husband was laid to rest in the crypt directly above Monroe, put her beloved`s valuable vault on the block August 14 to help pay off the 1.6 million dollars mortgage on her home.

The bidding for the crypt, which started at 500,000 dollars, shot to 4.6 million dollars in three days.

But when a representative for the widow sent an invoice to the winning bidder on Monday, he sent an email saying that he couldn`t afford it.

"I am awfully sorry, but I need to cancel this because of the paying problem," the New York Daily News quoted the unidentified bidder as saying in the email.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the widow`s representative has since emailed the 11 other bidders who bid at least 4.5 million dollars, giving them 24 hours to submit new offers.

He said that if the right offer is not made, he and Poncher might look for another way to sell the crypt.

EBay had been vetting the bidders and cancelled several offers that appeared fraudulent, leaving 21 final bids.

The auction posting revealed that Poncher`s late husband was buried face down, looking at Monroe, when he died 23 years ago at age 81.

Bollywood brat Salman Khan joins the IPL bandwagon?

After the news of two more teams being added to the extravagant Indian Premier League in 2011 started doing the rounds, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan took maximum interest in the report.

The actor has showed interest in purchasing an IPL franchise for the 2011 edition and he also met the League’s Chairman Lalit Modi on Wednesday to discuss the feasibility of the prospect.

The report was confirmed by Modi when he said that Salman had approached to discuss all the pros and cons of buying an IPL team. Modi also confirmed that the actor would be buying one of the new teams and was not interested in any of the existing ones.


When asked about the cost that Salman may probably incur while purchasing a franchise, Modi said the price of buying any team was more than double this year; last year Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra had to pay 15 million dollars for the Rajasthan Royals, this year Salman would have to pay a minimum of 30 million dollars if he intends to own one.

The blow-by-blow account of the brutal attack made by Chris Brown on his former girlfriend Rihanna has found its way to the public.Brown was ordered hard community labour duties and told to maintain a physical distance from the R&B lady after pleading guilty to assaulting her.

The judge at the LA court also fined the 20-year-old 4,000 pounds and ordered him to attend a domestic violence-counselling programme, along with cautioning the singer against a jail sentence if he broke a five-year probation, reports The Daily Express.

According to the police report filed after the attack, a "screaming woman," was described to be "very upset and crying".

Rihanna narrated the incident to the cops, apparently telling them the then couple had a row earlier in the evening in February at a pre-Grammy awards party, and it continued while they were on their way home in Brown`s car.

After she "became enraged and slammed both of her fists against the dashboard", Brown pulled the car over and tried to shove her out before hitting her, it was reported.

He then purportedly drove away while continuing to beat her with his right hand as he steered with his left.

Rihanna, in between a series of brutal punches and bites, allegedly tried to contact her assistant to seek help, leaving Brown fuming even more.

Brown reportedly told her, "You just did the stupidest thing ever! Now I`m really going to kill you!"

MJ’s daughter Paris’ cut hair seized by minders to avoid DNA tests

After late King of Pop Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris had her hair cut, her minders are said to have seized the cuttings immediately to prevent DNA tests on them.

The incident took place after Paris, 11, had her hair trimmed at a salon in Las Vegas on August 23, reports the Sun.

Her locks were swept from the floor as soon as she had her hair cut, and stored in plastic bags to stop anyone taking them.

If DNA tests were carried out, they could settle speculation as to whether Jacko was the biological dad of Paris and her brothers Michael, 12, and Blanket, seven.

The star is alleged to have used sperm and eggs donated by pals, with former actor Mark Lester saying he is Paris’ real dad.

Later, he had some health problems and a couple of accidents on the sets."

The source further adds, "This is a huge step for Ajay as he has never been too much into numerology and astrology though he believes in vastu shastra and stones. The ‘Dhoom’ franchise is back with a big bang! Remember the slick biker movie that featured adrenaline pumping mean machines, hot hunks and cool babes that became a raging Box Office success. According to the latest B-town news, it is believed that Aditya Chopra is looking forward to direct ‘Dhoom 3’ with Shah Rukh Khan and versatile actor Hrithik Roshan.

Of late, Aditya Chopra who is looking over the overseas YRF empire and is excited to direct ‘Dhoom 3’ with his favorite Khan - Shah Rukh Khan.

News has it that SRK has readily agreed to be the part of Aditya’s mega venture and an equally important role has been given to Hrithik Roshan. However, Hrithik is believed to be mulling over the offer as the actor is quite busy with ‘Kites’ and his first film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali ‘Guzaarish.’

MJ pleaded for drugs from his doctor, shows affidavit

Even though late King of Pop Michael Jackson’s death has been ruled as a homicide by the LA County coroner, an affidavit has revealed new details about actions of the singer’s doctor.

According to a search warrant affidavit released on August 24, Jackson pleaded with his doctor to give him more sedatives to cure his insomnia prior to his death, reports CBS News.

Jackson made “repeated demands/requests” for propofol, which the singer called his “milk”, the affidavit stated.

Dr Conrad Murray, Jackson’s cardiologist, administered 25 milligrams of the white-coloured liquid, a relatively small dose, and the singer finally fell asleep.

Murray told investigators that, at the time of Jacko’s death, he had been trying to wean the star off propofol, and that he’d been treating Jackson for insomnia for about six weeks with 50 milligrams of the drug every night via an intravenous drip.

The affidavit unsealed in Houston, where Los Angeles police took materials from one of Murray’s clinics last month as part of their manslaughter investigation, includes a detailed account of what detectives say Murray told them.

The LA County Coroner’s office will rule Jacko’s death as a homicide based on forensic tests, though the findings have not been publicly released.

“The coroner’s finding doesn’t mean we are going to see a homicide, as opposed to manslaughter case against anyone,” said a CBS News legal analyst.

“The examiner’s office doesn’t distinguish between legal terms ‘manslaughter’ and ‘homicide’,” the analyst added.

Miley Cyrus stalker allegedly threatens to return to ‘finish things’

‘Hannah Montana’ star Miley Cyrus’ stalker allegedly threatened to return to her movie set to “finish things” off.

Mark McLeod was remanded in custody after a judge ruled he was potentially dangerous, and there was enough evidence to send the case to trial, reports Sky News.

Cyrus’ security guard revealed that McLeod, arrested earlier this month after trying to contact the star while on a film set on Tybee Island, on Georgia’s coast, had confided to police that he planned to return.

But Municipal Court Judge Steven Scheer said that he felt McLeod had no chance of getting to the 16-year-old singer “because she can afford the best protection money can buy.”

Though he did say that he feared McLeod might be a threat to others, even if he is not a threat to Cyrus.

Cyrus embarks on her first UK tour later this year, beginning at London’s O2 Arena in December.

Farah Khan once again brushes Manoj Kumar the wrong way

It seems choreographer turned director Farah Khan and veteran actor Manoj Kumar simply love staying at loggerheads. Two years back Farah’s ‘Om Shanti Om’ spoofed yesteryears’ screen legend Manoj Kumar, and recently, the former once again made a dig at Manoj by calling his film ‘Clerk’ as “a treasure chest of ham scenes”.

When the unsavoury news reached Manoj Kumar, the veteran actor angrily retorted and said, “Ham means pig. I am still a student of cinema. Farah is bubbly and successful and she is entitled to her opinion. I wish her well but those who think that they have become masters (after becoming successful) are wrong. Go back and take a look at the choreographers who ruled the roost in my era. I think Farah should first learn to spell choreography. Keeping the same background and repeating the same shots is not choreography. It means that a song should take the story forward. If you don’t know that, you have no right to choreograph a song.”

Speaking to a news daily, Manoj said that he vividly remembered the scenes of ‘Clerk’ and maintained, “Nowadays, writers copy old films and nonchalantly walk away with awards. I have no respect for anybody who is not original, irrespective of the fate of his/her product at the Box Office.”

When enquired what he thinks of Farah Khan as a director, Manoj said, “What films has Farah made? ‘Main Hoon Na’? Good. But ‘Om Shanti Om’ was just idli, sambar and dosa of Madhumati, Mahal and many other films.”

However, when Farah was asked about the issue, she simply downplayed the whole incident and said, “I have high regards for Manoj Kumar.”

Why Salman Khan failed to keep a train-date with fans?

Just hours after Salman Khan declared that he would hop on the Mumbai local train to experience the life of the ‘aam junta’, his fans and the media rushed to the Bandra station to catch a glimpse of their star. But all their efforts proved futile as they were met with great disappointment when the star failed to show up. However, before you make judgements let us inform you that the actor had good reasons to ditch his date with his fans.

According to the latest Bollywood news, Salman’s maternal grandmother had been keeping unwell for quite some time now. On Tuesday she was gravely ill and the star had to rush to be by her side. By the end of the day, she passed away.

And though this is a reason enough, the actor also decided that boarding a local train was not a risk worth taking as he was concerned that some of his fans or the media could get seriously injured in the chaos.

Speaking to reporters Salman said, “The fans go crazy when they see their favourite stars and the media guys obviously are so engrossed in running after the star that they forget everything else. This is not like a person falling down from a cycle... this is a train journey and any mishap here would have been serious.”

“The situation would have been chaotic and it would have been very hard for anyone to control it. We got a call from the stationmaster updating us about the situation at the Bandra station and the police officials were also a little skeptical about the train journey. So we thought it was best to cancel the plan”, explained the star.

Shilpa Shetty has revealed her faith in karma, and believes her husband-to-be jewellery tycoon Raj Kundra must have been part of her previous life.

The actress, who is set to tie the knot with her London-born beau by the end of this year, said she was convinced the couple knew each other in a past life.

“I feel very lucky – to the point of actually feeling a little superstitious talking about him. He’s my soulmate,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.

“I really believe in the whole karmic circle. He must have been part of my past life and he’s come back. Maybe we have some unfinished business,” she added.

The 34-year-old further said she was yet to finalise the wedding date that would coincide with an auspicious occasion.

Drug-scandal hit Kerry Katona may soon have to undergo reconstructive surgery for her drug- ridden nose, it has emerged.

Coke sprees have left a hole in the former Atomic Kitten`s septum, the dividing wall between the two nostrils.

The Daily Star quoted a pal as saying: "Kerry is determined not to dabble ever again.

"She knows how close she has come to losing everything and isn`t going to take any more chances.

Kerry`s stepsister Pat Ferrier said the reality TV star was so addicted to cocaine that she had snorted up of 250 pounds of the drug in a day.

Pat said she had once seen Katona pull out a cartilage lump from her nose with a pair of tweezers.

She said: "It looked like when you get the fat off bacon.

"She told me rotting black stuff builds up inside and she has to dig it out every few weeks. But it didn`t stop her taking drugs."

British singer Lily Allen, who got nervous during a concert in Finland, claims she isn`t a super confident woman and that she desperately wants to walk away from the showbiz to be a wife and mom.

Dailystar.co.uk reports that Allen had a brief moment gripped by fear before the V performance recently. She refused to leave her dressing room and during her performance she said "I`m really nervous".

"People think I`m this super confident person who`s all for female empowerment but it`s not true. I have every intention of becoming a suburban mum. I want to get married and have children," she said.

Doting dad Joel Madden confesses spoiling daughter

Rocker Joel Madden has confessed he loves spoiling his 19-month-old daughter and cannot wait to become father for the second time.

The “Good Charlotte” vocalist, who is excited to expand his family with pregnant partner Nicole Richie, said he doted on little Harlow.

"I love to spoil Harlow. She`s a real Daddy`s girl,” Contactmusic overheard him as saying.

`Thriller` co-star becomes Jackson creditor

Court records show Michael Jackson`s love interest in the 'Thriller' video, Ola Ray, is now a creditor to the King of Pop`s estate.

Ray`s attorney filed paperwork in Los Angeles last week stating she is a creditor to the singer`s estate and is owed an undetermined amount of money.

The actress sued Jackson in April, claiming he had failed to pay her royalties that she was due from the `Thriller` video for the past four years.

That suit, and two others filed by `Thriller` director John Landis, remain unresolved. One of Landis` lawsuits claimed he also hadn`t been paid royalties on the `Thriller` video for several years.

Beyonce named as `Woman of the Year` by Billboard

The year`s not even over, but Billboard already knows who its woman of the year is — Beyonce.

The superstar will be honored by the industry publication at its annual Women in Music event.

Past ‘Woman of the Year’ honorees were Ciara and Reba McEntire.

Ga judge: Accused Miley Cyrus stalker `a danger`

A man charged with trying to stalk teen star Miley Cyrus told an investigator he planned on returning to her Georgia movie set and "finishing things," her security guard told a judge Tuesday.

Municipal Court Judge Steven Scheer refused a request to lower Mark McLeod`s $55,200 bond and ruled there was sufficient evidence to send the case to Chatham County State Court.

Scheer said he felt McLeod, 53, had no chance of getting to the 16-year-old "Hannah Montana" star because she "can afford the best protection money can buy," but he feared McLeod might be a threat to others.

Cyrus recently finished filming "The Last Song" on Tybee Island and in neighboring Savannah. Police say McLeod came to the island twice, once in June, then again this month asking where he could find her.

Robert Merriman, a former Savannah-Chatham County police detective hired by Walt Disney Pictures to protect Cyrus, testified that McLeod made a taped statement to a sheriff`s investigator in Columbia County, where he was arrested at his home Aug. 4.

"He said that he knew the filming was going to be ending soon and he was going to be coming back to Tybee Island and finishing things," said Merriman, who told the judge that he interpreted the comment as a threat.

"I can`t deny him bond, but if I could I would because I do feel he`s a danger," Scheer said.

James Byrne, McLeod`s defense attorney, said McLeod is an unemployed assistant plumber and will likely remain in jail because he cannot afford bond. All charges against him are misdemeanors.

"He`s been kind of painted as this monster, but he`s got a family," Byrne said. "He`s not a danger. What he said I understand was unsettling to a lot of folks ... but it doesn`t make him a stalker."

Police say McLeod told an officer he was engaged to marry Cyrus and she sent him secret messages through her TV show after his first arrest June 22 on charges of disorderly conduct and obstruction of a police officer.

But police backed away from an earlier assertion that McLeod had tried to breach a security barricade around the beachside film set.

Tybee Island police officer Javier Valdez said he arrested McLeod after approaching him about complaints that McLeod was bothering young girls gathered near the set. He testified that McLeod refused to leave and began cursing, prompting police to arrest and handcuff him.

McLeod was released from jail and returned to Tybee Island earlier this month. Merriman said security officers saw him going door-to-door at homes near the film crew`s base camp asking residents where Cyrus was staying. He was arrested again, on attempted stalking charges, a few days later.

Prosecutor Jennifer Guyer told the judge that McLeod had a previous arrest in 2003 on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor when he illegally transported a girl across the Georgia-South Carolina state line.

No Hrithik or Abhishek yet for `Agneepath` remake: Karan Johar

There have been speculations about who will play the male lead in the remake of the 1990 hit ‘Agneepath’. While the names of Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan popped up, filmmaker Karan Johar clarifies that no one has been finalised to play the part Amitabh Bachchan immortalised in the original.

"I haven`t made any statement whatsoever around the man who would eventually be playing the role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan that was made iconic by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. All I have said is that, yes, we are going ahead with a remake of `Agneepath` and that`s about it," Johar told reporters.

Whether it is Hrithik, Abhishek or someone else, Johar must be having a wish list?

"Well, the wish list is to get the screenplay right. For the moment nothing else is more important than that," he said.

Even though the film is being produced under the banner of Dharma Productions, Johar won`t be going behind the camera for the movie.

"True, I would be stepping aside and the film would be directed by Karan Malhotra, who has assisted me on `My Name Is Khan`. That`s the only thing which has been finalised... everything else you hear is mere speculation. We will finalise the cast once the script is locked. Currently, it is still in the process of being written," he added.

Malhotra is not really a novice when it comes to filmmaking. He has earlier worked as an assistant director with Ashutosh Gowariker on "Jodhaa Akbar", Farah Khan on "Main Hoon Na", Farhan Akhtar on "Lakshya" and Raj Kumar Santoshi "Lajja and Pukar" amongst others.

Since it is close to two decades since the release of "Agneepath", would the remake have a different milieu to it?

"Certainly! We are adapting the film from the original, but ours would be a new age version that would fit in well with today`s time. We really hope that we are able to do justice to the original and make the remake exciting for today`s generation," Johar said.

Dharma Productions, meanwhile, has as many as seven films that are in different stages of production. These are "My Name Is Khan", "Wake Up Sid", "Kurbaan", "Koochie Koochie Hota Hai", remakes of Hollywood flick "Stepmom" and "Agneepath" and "I Hate Love Stories".

How is he managing it all?

"Believe me, it`s not difficult at all. All you have to do is to follow a three-point mantra - delegation, outsourcing and trust. Along with that, if you have the right vision and infrastructure in place, which we do have in Dharma Productions, it isn`t difficult to crack it all.

"That`s the way you manage things and I have been fortunate enough to have a team with which it has become possible to helm a number of projects at the same time," said Johar.

Among the seven films, three are ready to hit the screens.

"`Wake Up Sid` is all set to arrive on Oct 2. `Kurbaan` will come in late November. Other than that, we are looking at an early 2010 release for `My Name Is Khan`. Yes, these have been busy and really exciting times," the filmmaker said.
