"I turned down George Clooney for sex. He was cute, and he asked me out! But there was always hostility between the writers and the actors, because the actors earned more. So I said, `I don`t go out with actors`," she said.

Lette later regretted the move as soon the hunk turned up on TV medical drama "ER".

"It`s just a way of sticking your fingers up at your ex through legal process. It`s about emotion - nothing else," the lawyer added.

A pal of Peter said: "Peter isn`t really asking for any money or property from Katie, but there are a few pieces of furniture that he wants back. What he wants most is his gym equipment.

"The financial agreement is almost there, but they`ve still got to thrash out custody issues."

Uber-cool Salman wins hearts as he chucks starry airs

Call him a bad boy for his weird antics and volatile rage but Salman Khan can be a real gentleman when he wants to be. The actor, who is otherwise infamous for making producers pay through their nose, left filmmaker Vipul Shah of ‘London Dreams’ pleasantly surprised after he went out of his way to assist the crew of the film.

It so happened that while shooting certain sequences of ‘London Dreams’ in Punjab, the unit members realised that Sallu’s costumes had not arrived. The star was ready to go for his scene but the crewmembers were much too scared to inform him about the incident. But to their surprise when Sallu was told about the gross negligence he was anything but angry.

To everyone’s surprise, Sallu offered to get the costume for his scene. He had to be dressed as a bandmaster for the scene and he went on a look out for the outfit in Punjab.

Confirming the news a source said, “When the production team told him about the problem and he stepped forward to bail them out. He asked the production team to get him addresses of traditional Indian bands located nearby. After he got the list, he arranged for cars to head to those places. Everybody was wondering what he was up to. Salman visited the band offices and took them by surprise when he told them that he wanted to borrow one uniform from them. He gave them his measurements”.

What’s more is that the locals were more than willing to help him out. After a frantic search, Salman got his size and hurried back to the sets. The filmmakers were relieved that they could resume shooting and it was all thanks to the uber-cool Salman.

Priyadarshan can`t believe he`s won National Award

Priyadarshan, currently shooting in Karaikudi, cannot believe his Tamil film `Kanchivaram` has won the National Award for Best Film. "This isn`t just my first National Award, it`s my first award ever!" he exclaims.

"Can you believe, in my career of 25 years as film director this is the first time I`ve won an award? And that I`ve won it for `Kanchivaram` is a very special thing for me. This film is very close to my heart," says the director emotionally, even as he prepares for the release of his next masala film `De Dana Dan`.

He was reacting soon after the 55th National Film Awards for 2007 were announced in New Delhi Monday.

"Now when the critics see `De Dana Dan` they`ll say Priyan is back to his old tricks," chuckles the prolific director.

"But I am proud of my masala films as well. It`s very important for a film to get an audience. And my comedies are big successes. I can`t fight success. I will continue to make the massy comedies," says the director whose films have often been accused of being wholesale adaptations of South Indian hits.

Ironically, all his serious-toned films in Hindi including the recent "Billu" with Shah Rukh Khan have been failures.

"I`ve to make what the audience likes. But now I also have to make films that are close to my heart.

"`Kanchivaram` is a completely original screenplay. And I`m really happy for my leading man Prakash Raj. He has breathed life into the role of the silk weaver. Sabu Cyril who has worked many times with me got the National Award for Best Art Direction. Sabu has made every frame look like a silk saree woven with love and care."

Sadly Priyan missed out on the National Award for Best Director. "But no regrets. Adoor Gopalkrishnan is a colleague I greatly admire. He deserved it. I`m just glad to be finally recognised after all these years."

Gopalkrishnan won the award for "Nalu Pennnugal".

`Kaminey` was my litmus test: Shahid Kapur

Audiences and critics can`t stop raving about Shahid Kapoor`s performance in the hit film "Kaminey", but the 28-year-old actor says doing the dark thriller was a "litmus test" as his well-wishers felt breaking away from his lover boy image may ruin his career.

"The fact is that mass as well as niche audiences have given a thumbs up to a subject and a genre that were never explored before. This was a very huge film for me and hence a big litmus test as well. It was such a huge risk and my fortune could have swung either way. I`m so happy that it paid off eventually," Shahid told reporters.

Even though he has worked in films across varied genres, the lover boy image seems to have latched on to him, courtesy his recent successes like "Jab We Met" and "Vivah".

"Even when I was on the verge of signing `Kaminey`, people discouraged me. Since on paper itself it sounded such a different film, I was advised that I should follow a conventional route and do more love stories.

"People felt that I was on a wrong path by signing on something experimental when I should have rather consolidated my image as a lover boy. I am glad I took a firm stand though because I sincerely believe that audiences today want a change," he said.

But Shahid isn`t turning his back to romantic films and his next will be "Dil Bole Hadippa", in which he has teamed up with Rani Mukerji.

"Now `Dil Bole Hadippa` is a complete contrast to `Kaminey` with a lot of `bhangra-shangra`...See, at the end of the day, I do want to do different kinds of work and find acceptance in all spaces.

"It`s just that I`m not willing to restrict myself to a particular genre, especially in times when change is the order of the day. Thankfully, audiences have become much more receptive to you being seen in a different avatar," the actor said.

After the success of Vishal Bharadwaj`s "Kaminey", Shahid finds himself in the big league of actors, but he has his head firmly on his shoulders.

"I am happy that `Kaminey` worked for me and I am also aware about the fact that post the success of the film, there are also lot of expectations from me. Still, it`s early days for me to begin celebrations.

"There are many more movies that I have to do over a period of time. I have to continuously prove myself. In a couple of weeks from now, I have `Dil Bole Hadippa` coming out; so I`m keeping my fingers crossed," he said.

While the Khans - Shah Rukh, Aamir, Salman - have been dominating from the top along with Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan, the success of "Kaminey" means that both Shahid and Saif Ali Khan, who delivered a money spinner in "Love Aaj Kal", have also made their mark.

Shahid may not be inside the ring yet but he is knocking the doors at the least.

"Everyone seems to be saying that, but I keep reminding myself that it has only been six years for me in the industry. Of course, I`m extremely happy to be even considered a good enough candidate. For someone who is just 28 years old, I feel very privileged and fortunate to see such confidence from my audiences as well as the industry," he said.
