Sonam Kapoor in love with Delhi

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, who is currently in the capital for the shooting of ‘Ayesha’, says she loves everything about the city except its unpredictable weather."I`m in love with this city. I love the food, shopping, parties and people of Delhi - they are so lively. When you watch this city on the big screen, it looks beautiful," Sonam told reporters here.

"But the weather is unpredictable - one moment it`s sunny and suddenly it starts raining and that is the only thing that I don`t like about this place. But every time I come here, I feel good," said the actress whose aunt lives here.

Before "Ayesha", she was also here to shoot for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra`s "Delhi-6". Though the movie didn`t do well at the box-office, the actress enjoyed her stay here.

She has teamed up with Abhay Deol for "Ayesha", which is her father Anil Kapoor`s home production. An adaptation of Jane Austen`s novel "Emma", the film is about the perils of misconstrued romance.

Sonam Kapoor takes up social causes

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor on Saturday was made the brand ambassador of a fund-raiser organised by NGO Khushii that will spread awareness about various causes like health care and child welfare. She said that she was "just the face" of the cause and everyone should do their bit.

"I am honoured to be associated with NGO Khushii (for the fund raising event `Flight of Joy`) and I appreciate the work they are doing for the welfare of people in different fields. I believe each one of us should come forward and support this event," Kapoor told reporters at a press conference here Saturday.

"It is not just about me, it is about everyone. No matter how much you contribute, but you all should contribute. I am just a face and can appeal to everyone to do their bit. It has to be a collective effort and we all should chip in," she added.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni was also present at the event.

"A moment of giving is much greater than a moment of receiving," Soni maintained.

Throughout this fund raising event, the NGO will spread awareness about various causes related to women, child welfare, health care, primary education, animals and environment. It will also give financial aid to other NGOs who are unable to raise funds for their organisations.

The fund-raiser will take place during the `Joy of Giving` week Sep 27-Oct 2, when a combination of events and exhibitions will allow every citizen to contribute in their own way.

A balloon flying event will also be held on the lawns of India Gate Oct 11 where eminent personalities from different walks of life will support the event.

Sonam Kapoor sheds designer wear for KJo’s ‘I Hate Love Stories’

Sonam Kapoor is facing a dilemma these days, but what exactly is it that’s troubling her? Well, the actress, who is known to have a penchant for expensive designer wears, has been ordered by Karan Johar to get rid of her designer gowns and get back to the basics- tees and denims, for the actress is starring in his new film ‘I Hate Love Stories’.

According to reports, the film in question has Imran Khan along with Sonam Kapoor and will be directed by Puneet Malhotra.

“While Imran has a boyish image, Sonam has an international designer gownwali image. While it may have worked for her to get plush endorsement campaigns with international brands, she comes across too hip for the Indian masses. So Karan has asked her to lock away all designer gowns and start appearing in public in casual jeans and t-shirts,” says a source.

Sonam is apparently so keen on shopping that she has volunteered to go with Manish Malhotra (who will be designing her clothes for ‘I Hate Love Stories’) to shop for her wardrobe in the film.

Sonam Kapoor who is in the city shooting for `Aisha` is "obsessed" with `Pokerface` hitmaker Lady GaGa as the racy singer`s music helps her get into character as the bratty socialite in the upcoming film.

The 24-year-old who is set to break away from her "coy beauty" image with the movie which is being produced by her father Anil Kapoor, plugs into the tunes of the singer who often grabs headlines with her risque outfits and provocative lyrics.

"I`m off to Delhi tomorrow, I`m obsessed with Lady Gaga`s paparazzi right now, and her music is what I am listening to get into the mood of Aisha," twittered the actress.

The `Delhi 6` beauty has undergone a complete make-over for her film which a modern adaptation of the Victorian novel `Emma`.

"Very excited about sinking my teeth into `Aisha`. Got a beautiful haircut," twittered the actress.

After `Aisha`, Sonam will be seen in `I hate Luv Storys` opposite Imran Khan.

Sonam in a butter chicken soup

Sonam Kapoor a self confessed foodie, is on a strict diet and workout regime in the eyes of her fitness trainer, but her recent status on a social networking website got her busted.

The pretty actress’s profile read that she had butter chicken and biryani which was unfortunately read by her trainer.

She says, “I am into major trouble. Apparently my updates are also checked by my trainer, who read my messages about biryani and butter chicken. He got me!”
