King of Pop Michael Jackson will be buried today evening.

The pop legend will be laid to rest at Holly Terrace Grand Mausoleum in Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park, five miles from Hollywood.

The private funeral ceremony is scheduled to start at 7pm, reports a news daily.

However, his fans will not get to view it, as cameras will be banned from the 45-minute service limited to close friends and family.

The late singer’s friend Diana Ross and Motown label founder Berry Gordy will be present apart from the family.

Aretha Franklin will attend too as she’ll sing at the graveside.

Jackson’s coffin will be encased in thick concrete to protect it from grave robbers.

His estate, controlled by two former advisers, will bear the expenses of the funeral ceremony.

Meanwhile, prosecutors have amended Jackson’e death certificate to call it a homicide.

The wording is he died from “intravenous injection by another”.

They are keen to own the Ahmedabad team. Since Ajay was busy travelling, he informed Sanjay about being unable to meet IPL Commissioner, Lalit Modi. It was Sanjay who met Modi and expressed their interest to own a team. Modi and Sanjay met at a suburban five-star on Wednesday to understand the bidding process. Sanjay made it very clear that whenever the auction begins, they are ready to invest in the Ahmedabad team," the source said.

However, when Dutt met Lalit Modi at a posh Mumbai hotel, the actor was taken by complete surprise as he had no idea that media would be waiting for him at the same venue. It is believed that media is informed every time a Bollywood star wishes to buy an IPL team. The source maintained, “The idea is to let it be known that big stars are getting progressively involved with the IPL. That attracts more money, eyeballs and junta interest. So on Wednesday evening when Dutt reached the Hyatt he was taken aback to see media persons swarming the place. His first impulse was to flee.”

However, it is believed that the meeting between Dutt and Modi was a great success where the former discussed his curiosities about buying an IPL team. The source added, “Sanjay’s main concern was, would he be able to buy the team because of his court cases? There are many things that he can’t do, like endorsements, etc. Sanjay was assured there would be no problem. With the removal of TADA charges Dutt now has rights equal to every other Indian citizen.”

Aamir considers playing superhero ‘Hanuman’ in international project!

Cops say Renee Zellweger was charming following car accident

Bridget Jones star Renee Zellweger reportedly displayed her charming side to the cops she called for help after her silver Mercedes off-roader was hit by a wrong-way driver in Beverly Hills.

The officer and two colleagues were said to have dashed to the 40-year-old actress’ side after she phoned, and were relieved to find that she was fine and only her car dented.

Police Lieutenant Tony Lee confirmed that the crash was not Zellweger’s fault, and said that the actress had been charming to deal with.

“A green Ford Explorer made an illegal U-turn in front of her silver Mercedes,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

“Ms Zellweger was not injured. The damage to her car was very minor. She was very polite and sincere,” he added.

Instead of ringing in his 33rd year with parties, Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi chose to spend his birthday Thursday at an ashram here and with cancer patients, says a source close to the actor."There is no party, no dinner, no celebration that has been planned by Vivek for his birthday. Every year on his birthday, he visits Barbhaya ashram here and later he visits some cancer patients, most of them are kids," the source told reporters.

The actor, who became popular with Ram Gopal Varma`s "Company" and Shaad Ali`s "Saathiya", was apparently busy buying gifts for the kids Wednesday evening.

"He himself goes out and buys small gifts for the kids. He spends about two to three hours with them and it gives him a lot of joy," the source added.

Bankrupt Kerry Katona has turned to police to find her missing bucks, it has emerged.

According to reports, Katona had filed a complaint at Wilmslow police station in Cheshire.

A news website quoted a source as saying: “Kerry is determined to get to the bottom of where her money has gone. She believes that fraud has been committed and is determined to bring whoever did it to justice.”

Bollywood`s enfant-terrible Salman turns activist

He has been seen as an enfant-terrible, but Salman Khan wants to change that with the 30 short films that he has shot for a cause. His ‘Wanted’ producer Boney Kapoor says it will project him as an icon well-versed with his social duties."For `Wanted`, we wanted Salman to completely abandon the bad boy image. Salman is a youth icon. And those 30 short films on public issues we`ve produced will project him as a responsible citizen and an icon who knows his duties," Kapoor told reporters.

The 30 short films, directed by Nikhil Saini and produced by Kapoor`s SK Enterprises, will go on air a week before the release of "Wanted", which is scheduled for a Sep 18 release. These films will have Salman addressing the public about social issues such as drugs, old people, crime and so on.

"The 30 short films will be unleashed in quick succession one after another," said Kapoor.

Almost all the marketing for "Wanted" will benefit Salman`s new charity concern, Being Human.

"It`s true Salman`s keen interest in marketing `Wanted` has a lot to do with his newly-discovered craving for organised social work. This was a side to Salman that always existed. It just needed to be harnessed. Earlier too he contributed hugely to charitable and social causes. But not in this organised fashion," said Kapoor.

Kapoor, who earlier teamed up with Salman in hit comedy "No Entry", thinks quite highly of the actor.

Hollywood heartthrob Robert Pattison believes that sudden fame is making him paranoid and ruining his life.

The 23-year-old British hunk has become a heartthrob with his role as the lovelorn vampire Edward Cullen in the romantic flick `Twilight`.

Pattinson, named `Sexiest Man Alive`, is constantly trailed by paparazzi photographers and hoards of screaming fans wherever he goes.

Radcliffe shuns minor celebrity parties

`Harry Potter` star Daniel Radcliffe has withdrawn himself from the party circuit, as he wants to distance himself from lesser known celebrities.

"I don`t get involved with drinking or partying any more. I hate celebrity culture but I`m unavoidably a part of it," Contactmusic quoted the star as saying.

The 20-year-old actor admits he enjoys partying at A-list events in London, but doesn`t like being mixed up with reality TV stars and wannabes while he is out.

Demi Moore has rubbished rumours that she is about to appear in her husband Ashton Kutcher`s new TV show.

The `Ghost` star was rumoured to play the role of a former model obsessed with plastic surgery in `The Beautiful Life`, which is being produced by Kutcher, Gossip.com reported.

The 46-year-old actress has been helping Kutcher behind the scenes on the New York City set and a UK tabloid subsequently reported that she had agreed to join the cast.

But Moore`s representatives have denied she is to take on a role in the project, telling the website that the star will not be stepping out in front of the camera.

"(The rumours are) completely false. There are no plans for Demi to make an appearance on The Beautiful Life," the representative said.

Chris Brown`s service includes manual work: Police

Police in Virginia say singer Chris Brown will remove graffiti, pick up trash and wash cars as part of his sentence for beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

The 20-year-old Brown was sentenced in California last month to five years` probation, six months of community labor and a year of domestic violence counseling for the February attack. He is performing the labor in Richmond near his home.

In a letter to the judge, Richmond Police Chief Bryan Norwood outlined some of Brown`s tasks. They include graffiti removal, trash pickup, washing cars, cleaning and maintaining grounds.

Norwood said Brown will be supervised during his service, but Brown would have to pay for any additional security if the public becomes aware of his presence.

Jackson estate to pay for `extraordinary` burial costs

The estate of late pop king Michael Jackson has been asked to bear the costs of his planned funeral Thursday.The singer, who died in June from an overdose of the hospital anaesthetic propofol, is due to be buried at the historic Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Los Angeles suburb of Glendale. He will be laid to rest in the cemetery`s Grand Mausoleum, which features flowers, statues and stained glass windows, alongside other stars such as Jean Harlow, Carole Lombard and Clark Gable.

Along with Jackson`s family, entertainment figures including Diana Ross, Brooke Shields and Larry King are expected to attend the no-expenses spared funeral that will even feature Jackson`s favourite donuts flown in specially from Connecticut.

Probate Judge Mitchell Beckloff approved the payment at a hearing this morning in downtown Los Angeles, after an attorney for the estate`s administrators, John Branca and John McClain, assured him that the estate has enough cash to cover the expenses and that paying for the funeral will not affect its solvency.

"The expenses are extraordinary; however, Michael Jackson is extraordinary," said attorney Jeryll Cohen, who told the judge the administrators did not object to the expenses. "They may not be appropriate for an ordinary person, but Michael Jackson was not ordinary."

Women are stronger than men: Akhsay Kumar

Akshay Kumar maintains that women are stronger than men when it comes to mental strength and says he chose Twinkle as his life partner because she has the courage to "kick" people in the "butt".

"I didn`t fall in love with my wife because she could dance around a tree. I fell for her strength as an independent woman. She kicked butt at school and she could do it now if she wanted. She is fearless to the outside world and I think it`s a great perception for women," Akshay told reporters from Italy where he is currently shooting for Sajid Khan`s `Housefull`.

Akshay is making a comeback on the small screen as the host of level two of the serial "Khatron Ke Khiladi" and reveals there were a number of instances during its shooting when he was simply dismayed with the way male participants performed stunts.

"In fact, I had to shout at the guys for some of their pathetic attempts. You should watch how many times men get rescued by their female partners on this show. On the other hand, women were much controlled in the situations they found themselves in.

"While men tend to believe that brute strength can get them everywhere, the fact is it was women who got them there in the end," said the actor.

He feels that women`s mental strength also comes to play in physical activity - something which reflected in their performances when compared to men.

"I have said this quite a few times now that I believe women to be way stronger than men. It`s high time that our society gave them credit for this," said Akshay when asked if one of the major reasons for doing "Khatron Ke Khiladi" was that he found it empowering for women to go ahead and face the challenges of life.

"If men were so brave, how come god made sure that it`s only women that give birth? We may be able to lift more bricks, but that`s about it. Level two is a perfect example of what I am getting at," he added.

Akshay has been in the industry for close to a couple of decades now. Does he feel that women have evolved over a period of time when it comes to stunts?

"I genuinely think if we had proper schools for stunt training and facilities where men and women could train, not only would our heroines be as tough as us heroes but our country would be healthier and more experienced. Most Indians don`t know how to swim, though not due to any fault of their own but because they are not given the opportunity to learn," he said.

Regarding the current bunch of actresses, Akshay says, "As for actresses nowadays, they have a much tougher role to play - they are not all sari- wearing beauties any more. They have more demanding roles."

He indicates that audiences should not expect him to hog the limelight as an action hero on the show.

"If you want to see me in action, then watch my movies. That`s because `Khatron Ke Khiladi` is about the `power of our sexes` and not about checking out what is Akshay Kumar up to this time. My stunts are just a bonus and a little treat for my fans," he said.

Madonna smashed her own record for top-grossing tour by a solo artist, but the "Material Girl" had to play more shows in bigger venues, according to data released by concert promoter Live Nation Inc on Wednesday.

The pop singer`s yearlong `Sticky & Sweet` world tour, which wrapped in Israel on Wednesday, pulled in $408 million after playing to more than 3.5 million fans at 85 shows.

It broke the record set in 2006 by her previous outing, the `Confessions` tour, which grossed $194 million from 1.2 million fans at 60 shows. A Live Nation spokesman said the previous trek featured many arena stops, while the latest one was centered on bigger stadiums.

On September 28, Madonna will release "Celebration" CD and video compilations, which will draw the curtain on her 27-year relationship with Warner Music Group Corp. In 2007, she signed a pioneering, 10-year, $120 million "360" deal with Live Nation covering recording, merchandising and touring.

The top-grossing tour overall is the Rolling Stones` $558 million `Bigger Bang` trek of 2005-2007, which drew 4.7 million people to 144 shows.

Jennifer Aniston trying to woo back John Mayer

It seems Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston is desperate to rekindle her romance with ex-boyfriend John Mayer.

The `Friends` star is said to have resumed contact with 31-year-old musician and the pair plan to meet when she returns to Los Angeles, Now magazine online reported.

The 40-year-old actress never fully recovered from her split with the singer in April and is hopeful that they can pick up where they left off.

The actress has also started sporting the Rolex watch, which was gifted to her by Mayer when they were a couple. But a source revealed that he`s just playing with her.

"He`s stringing her along. John has nothing much else on dating wise and loves playing with her head. He did the same with his ex Jessica Simpson, spreading the news that they were texting and talking, but ultimately letting her down," an insider told the magazine.

Aniston was recently said to have felt "screwed over" when actor Bradley Cooper, 34, reportedly dumped her for Renee Zellweger. Despite reports that the pair are engaged, Aniston has warned Zellweger via friends that he is a "timewaster".

"Jen thinks Bradley`s a gigolo. She sent him an angry email saying she feels humiliated. Initially, she didn`t want to date him, but when she agreed he began seeing Renee," a source close to Aniston said.
