But now, Abhishek has revealed that he really wants to work with Kareena and would love to relive the magic of their debut flick ‘Refugee’.

Abhishek says, “Bebo was my first heroine and she will always be special for me. She is not only a very sweet girl but also one of the finest actresses. We started our journey together. So she is always special to me.”

Rumours have been rife that Abhishek has not been willing to work with Kareena. When asked about the same, Abhi said, “Of course, I will. People keep saying that I refuse to work with her. The fact is that nothing worthwhile has come up.”

Guess, Abhi-Bebo will make a better pair now, considering the fact that they have really grown as actors over the years!

Salman’s family ecstatic about his IPL dreams

Akshay Kumar is the only actor with no pending projects!

Akshay Kumar believes in completion of pending projects at the earliest. The actor, known for his professionalism, recently completed a film that was lying in the cans for the last 12 years. Now, the actor can boast of being the only actor in the industry who has no films in the cans.

According to the latest news, the actor completed a schedule of Sajid Khan`s ‘Housefull’, and then called producer-director Shabnam Kapoor to London to complete the long pending ‘Purab Ki Laila Paschim Ka Chaila’, which is now named as ‘Hello India’.

The film also stars Namrata Shirodkar and Suniel Shetty. It seems that the actor has no problems with the dated look of his films, and his only concern is completion of projects. This calls for applause.

Matt Damon to receive lifetime achievement award

Oscar winner Matt Damon is set to be honoured for his film career at an award ceremony next year.

The actor, whose career took off following the success of "Good Will Hunting" in 1997, will be bestowed the American Cinematheque award, reports contactmusic.com.

The ceremony is scheduled for March 2010.

Some of the past recipients of the award are actor Samuel L. Jackson in 2008 and Julia Roberts in 2007.

Priyanka Chopra talks on the love of her life in a chat

Q: How did you end up in the film industry? Was it difficult?

Priyanka: I don’t understand my own past; it has all been so swift. I was just seventeen years old when Miss World competition happened to me. Then straightaway I had become an actor. It is like a dream. It just happened so it was very difficult. I had to make myself grow up very quickly. Imagine being asked an opinion on the world economic condition and on the new President at the age of seventeen! Who thinks of all these things at seventeen, tell me? I had to take a lot of responsibilities all of a sudden. I miss my childhood. Now I have regressed. Now I am very badly behaved.

Q: Your transformation from modeling to acting has been very swift, and you have handled these transformations wonderfully well. Besides, you took up unusual roles for yourself. How did you manage all this?

Priyanka: I was never a model, so it was no great transformation for me to become an actor after that. I landed up on the international pageant stage after being directly plucked from school. I always thought of myself as a strong individual, so I took my own decisions. I had no background in acting, so no predetermined mental set-up to hamper me from taking up a new profession. It was just a whim.

Q: It is a generally accepted that beauty queens cannot act. What do you say to this?

Priyanka: I never thought of all these generalizations. I had no time to think of any such thing, that is why I was able to be what I am today, otherwise I would have blundered amid the norms.

Q: Akshay Kumar has said: ‘After a hundred films, even a donkey can act.’ What do you have to say on this statement?

Priyanka: I am yet to complete a hundred films. When I do, then I’ll discover if I am a donkey or not! I have spent only five years in the film industry. Give me some more time to learn and discover myself. Give me some time to prove myself!

Q: You have an image of a size zero actor, which is very popular. Everyone wants to be you. How do you manage this image?

Priyanka: I have no interest in the size zero figure! I have no interest even in maintaining it. God has endowed me with a thin frame. And the love of my parents has given me a high metabolism. I love paranthey a lot – I am a foodie! Let people be jealous if they want. I live to eat. I am very easy to please – give me good food, a good place to sleep and some good work – and I will ask for nothing more. I am from a Punjabi household, used to eating ghee lagi rotiand ghee wali daal. I am used to this lifestyle only!

Q: What does it take on your part to maintain this fabulous figure?

Priyanka: I never do anything. I never try to maintain my figure. I work-out only for my films. I did work-out for ‘Dostana’ and for ‘Fashion’, only because I had put on so much weight earlier.

Q: Why did Madhur Bhandarkar make you shed eight kilos for ‘Fashion’ when you were already so thin?

Priyanka: He never asked me to, poor guy! It was my idea that in the beginning of the film I should look a little ‘filled-up’, then as my career as a model caught on, I should look leaner. So. Throughout the film I lost Seven-eight kilos. For this we even shot the film in a linear fashion – Bhandarkar never complained!

Q: Who is your favorite actor?

Priyanka: Shah Rukh has always been my favorite actor – and always will be! He is there from one to ten – the rest come afterwards. I have been his fan since my childhood. Nobody compares to him.

Q: Is this choice because he is safely and happily married – so a non-candidate for link-up with you?

Priyanka: But all of the established actors are married! And it is stupid to connect actors this way – because he or she is single so whoever s/he acts with, is a contender for a link-up story! This is outrageous! After all, we actors are also humans. We are also sisters and daughters to some. Sometimes when I am sitting with my father and we come across this scandalous story about my link-up with an actor, I am very irritated. It is very stupid to link up people like this. It gives rise to a lot of strain.

Q: After a story of a supposed link-up with a married actor in the media, do you find it awkward to meet him?


Priyanka: I feel very awkward, obviously. It is a very uncomfortable situation to maintain the distance when I am this friendly a person. It is painful to maintain the distance after that. You have to be guarded in the way you talk and react, because you are being judged, and you can easily be misinterpreted. I feel journalists should come up and work as screenwriters and scriptwriters in the film industry. It would give them a better chance to vent their creative abilities. Better than concocting link-ups out of the blue…

Q: Why do you call Shahid Kapoor ‘sadu’

Priyanka: That is just in jest. We are on very friendly terms, and he is a great human being. We are friendly, so I call him ‘sadu’ as he gets so serious during work. He is a very lively person when not working. He sings and dances so well, he is a funny guy. I only call him that because of his unusually serious attitude on the sets.

Q: Are you single and ready to mingle?

Priyanka: I am single, but not ready to mingle. And yes, there is a certain someone in my life, but it is for me to know and for you to find out. I am a very private person. I don’t go on about the stages of my life. I am always politically correct – you can ask me anything, except my personal life.

Shilpa`s father gets his passport back

A local court here today ordered to hand over passport to Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty`s father Surender Shetty, an accused in a 2003 extortion case, for four months.

Shetty has appealed court to release his passport, which is in court`s custody, as he needed to travel abroad for his daughter`s marriage and for some business trips.

Sessions judge VR Vyas ordered to hand over passport to Shetty on a personal bond of Rs 2.5 lakh and asked him to submit it back to the court on January 1, 2010.

A Surat based businessman, Shivnarayan Agarwal had filed a case of extortion against Shetty and his wife Sunanda after he allegedly received threats from underworld don Fazl-Ur-Rehman and his aides asking him to pay the money he owed to Shilpa of an advertisement contract.

Chris Brown`s `underage partying` lands club in trouble

R&B singer Chris Brown who was photographed partying with a bevy of beauties at a night spot after being sentenced to probation in court, has landed the club in trouble as he is underage.

The 20-year old was in an over-21 venue and shocked fans when he was snapped dancing in Hollywood club `Guys & Dolls`, just hours after he was handed a five year probation order for assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna, TMZ reported.

"We are looking into reports that are surfacing regarding an underage individual in Guys and Dolls," sources inside the agency told the website.

The `Run It` hitmaker`s antics have now landed the club`s bosses in trouble who are facing the wrath of the Alcohol Beverage Control Agency for allowing the underage reveller in.

This could lead to legal action, with chances of the club losing its liquor licence.

Jordan ‘vows not to speak to Peter Andre’

Jordan, aka Katie Price, has reportedly said she wants no talking terms with estranged husband Peter Andre.The glamour girl allegedly took the pledge after receiving a text message from her former lover, who allegedly slammed her party girl lifestyle.

The warring duo, who have been locked in a bitted battle of words since they parted ways in May, had until then purportedly kept contact only through lawyers and assistants.

Andre was said to have blasted Jordan, with whom he shares three kids, for “cavorting” with new cage fighter lover Alex Reid, who recently starred in a violent hardcore porn film.

“Katie decided enough was enough and told Peter in no uncertain terms that she does not want to talk to him ever again,” the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

“She is still hurting after the split despite trying to put a brave face on things. She feels any contact with Pete really sets her back emotionally and told him so.

“It is really sad but she thinks that severing all contact is the way forward,” the source added.

Andre, on the other side, apparently told pals “the feeling is mutual” regarding the minimal contact.

A friend said: “Pete’s priority is the kids and he appreciates there will undoubtedly be some contact between the two of them because of them.

“But he feels that it’s best for both of them that they speak as little as possible – especially for the time being – as everything is still so raw.

“You can’t blame Peter for texting Katie to express his unhappiness with Alex being pictured with the kids.

“He is only human and it really hurt. He doesn’t blame Katie for her response. In fact, he thinks it is good for both of them.”

Tim McGraw won`t put up with abuse at concerts

Tim McGraw isn`t looking for trouble at his concerts, but there are certain things he just won`t ignore.

"It`s all about enjoying yourself and not messing with other people`s fun," the country singer said in a recent interview. "And certainly I don`t think you should be abusive to women. I think that`s No. 1 right there."

McGraw, 42, has thrown out disruptive fans from at least two of his concerts in the past year and a half, most recently in July. Video of the incidents taken by fans went viral on the Internet.

At one concert, McGraw stops in the middle of singing "Indian Outlaw," calls for security and pulls a guy on stage by his shirt so that guards can haul him away.

"Look, I`m the one with the microphone, so if there`s something that needs to be done, and I`m the one who can see it because of where I`m at, then I`m probably the only person who can ask somebody to do something about it, because other people may not be able to see it, security especially," said McGraw.

His protectiveness may come from being a father of three girls, or maybe just from the way he was raised. McGraw`s new cologne, "Southern Blend," is marketed to "the true Southern gentleman." He says that means the scent is "respectful."

"I mean it`s not offensive. It`s not in your face. It`s not super strong," McGraw said. "It has just the right weight to it. And I think that`s what a Southern gentleman has. He just does the right thing."

McGraw made sure his wife, Faith Hill, and three daughters liked the cologne: "It`s gotta be approved by the women in my life before anything can work out for me. So they definitely have the final word."

In addition to the cologne, McGraw is costarring with Sandra Bullock in the upcoming film, "The Blind Side," this fall, and he is coming out with a new album, "Southern Voice," out in October.

He credits his wife for helping him balance all his projects: "She kept me on task."

When enquired about the news, the actress’s father confirmed the reports and said, “Yes, Priyanka has come back. She had to dub for ‘What’s Your Rashee?’."

Aguilera credits hubby for helping her overcome abusive past

Pop singer Christina Aguilera paid an emotional tribute to her hubby Jordan Bratman in a recent TV interview, crediting him for helping her overcome her abusive past.

Aguilera, 28, and music marketing executive Bratman, 32, who are parents to 19-month-old son Max, will be married four years in November.

And the singer insists that it is only because of Bratman’s loving influence that she has been able to conquer her fears after growing up with an abusive father.

“I grew up not having any real male perspective or role model and Jordan just continuously makes me fall deeper and deeper in love with him everyday,” Contactmusic quoted her as telling a website.

“He just exudes such love and is such a great father to Max that it just makes me the happiest woman alive.

Shah Rukh Khan, who was with his wife Gauri said, "Gauri has designed it with Arjun and Meher. I think it would be fabulous. I wish them all the best. I am from Delhi and want everyone to visit this place."

Khan, however, steered clear of any controversy during his visit to the capital and refused to make any comments on Salman`s recent remarks over his nearly two-hour detention at a US airport.

Rampal, though being a Delhiite, said he hasn`t not been able to visit the capital city much because of his commitments to the film industry. "I was waiting for 'Rock On' to release. Tomorrow is its first anniversary. I was not coming to Delhi because I needed to make money and give back something to Delhi. Films is my work, that is one of my first priorities. This is just a hobby and passion for me. We are after all entertainers."

"I love women and want women to feel safe at 'Lap'. That's why it's exclusive," added Rampal.

About 'Lap's menu, Rampal said, "I am a complete foodie who definitely wants to see Biriyani on the menu."

Talking to a news daily, a source said, “Sudipto Chattopadhyay, the director of the film, wanted Bipasha to smoke on screen for a vital sequence. However, Bipasha flatly refused as she does not encourage smoking and hates it. She was not in favour of the scene and if she smokes, it meant that she would be promoting smoking. After that, Sudipto even gave her the option of holding a cigarette, but she refused that as well. Sudipto understood her point of view and agreed to shoot the scene differently.”

When enquired the feisty actress, Bipasha confirmed the news and maintained, “I don’t smoke and I don’t encourage smoking. Unless it’s absolutely essential to smoke for my role, I wouldn’t agree to do it. In ‘Pankh,’ it was not essential, hence I refused. I had also refused to smoke in one of my earlier films, ‘Corporate.’ If my role is that of an addict, then I will do whatever the character and the role demands, which was not the case with ‘Pankh.’”

With Bipasha refusing to smoke on-screen, poor Sudipto had to alter the whole scene and clarified the same as, “It was a song sequence with a smoky atmosphere. We wanted to show that when she starts singing, smoke comes out of her mouth. However, she had a very valid point that smoking was a very politically incorrect thing to do. She said that she does not endorse smoking and she did not endorse John doing ‘No Smoking.’ She had never smoked in her life. We can’t fake smoking like we do with drinking. So, eventually, we placed a canister jar in front of her which emitted smoke and we framed it in such a way that when she sings, it seems that the smoke is coming out of her mouth.”

When enquired Sanjay Gupta, the producer of ‘Pankh’, he said, “It’s the question of an actor being comfortable. Bipasha had some inhibitions about it and it’s perfectly fine.”

Jenny McCarthy`s dieting secrets

Actress Jenny McCarthy has revealed that she still sticks to some of the dieting techniques that helped her lose 60 pounds of baby weight more than six years ago.

The comic star had joined her local Weight Watchers after having son Evan in 2002.

"I still kind of count points in my head," Us magazine quoted her as saying.

She insists that eating right food is the key to maintaining a good physique.

She said: "Working out tightens you up and helps burn calories, but what you put in your mouth makes all the difference."

McCarthey who suffered from 60 food allergies had switched to a diet free of wheat, dairy and sugar apart from avoiding meat and sustained on fresh fruits and veggies.

In fact, she has influenced her actor husband Jim Carrey, who has sworn off wheat and dairy, and takes an active role in cultivating natural ingredients.

She added: "We just planted our own organic garden in the backyard, and we love it!"

Shiney withdraws bail plea

Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, facing charges of raping his domestic help, on Friday withdrew his bail petition filed in a sessions court since the case has been transferred to a fast track court.He will now have to file a fresh petition in the fast track court to seek bail, Ahuja`s lawyer Srikant Shivade told reporters.

Principal judge MT Joshi had yesterday announced the transfer of the case to a fast track court in Sewri.

Chief Minister Ashok Chavan had assured to put the trial on the fast track soon after the arrest of the actor.

Ahuja`s earlier bail plea had been rejected on July 8 by a sessions court which held that prima facie case was made out against him.

36-year-old Ahuja had sought bail on the ground that his custody was not required by police at this stage as investigations were over and charge sheet had been filed.

The actor, currently lodged in Arthur Road jail, was arrested on June 15 for allegedly raping his maid servant at his residence in suburban Oshivara.

His lawyer Srikant Shivade had earlier claimed that the entire case against the actor had been "concocted" and alleged that a conspiracy had been hatched to wrongly implicate the actor in the crime.

Unfortunately for Andre, while he was meeting his lawyers, Reid was spotted playing a caring father to Jordan and Andre`s four-year-old son Junior.

"As great as Alex may be with the children, he is not their father and never will be. As far as Peter is concerned, he is not an ideal father figure and shouldn`t be responsible for another man`s children, it`s not fair on anyone," said an insider.

Andre is said to be particularly concerned following the emergence of steamy scenes from Reid`s latest film project. But Reid insists that the footage is from a gangster

movie, not a porn film.

`Pete`s number one concern is the welfare of his kids,` said the source. `He has nothing against Alex, but Peter has been rocked by the ongoing sordid revelations about Alex`s private life, and now his career," the source added.

After facing the arc lights for half a century, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore says she has done enough and wants an extended break from movies even though she looks forward to the release of her Marathi venture "Samaantar" next month."I`m not interested in working any more, frankly. Unless it`s something really exciting, I don`t want to do films. I want to do other things," Sharmila told reporters.

"I have been working since I was 16. In fact, I was 13 when I did my first film (`Apur Sansar` 1959) and then went back to school and came back to cinema. Since then, I`ve just been working. I`ve done enough. Now I`m happy doing other things and, for that matter, not doing anything. I`m any way quite lazy," said the 62-year-old thespian who looked cool and relaxed in a pair of jeans and a floral shirt at her residence here.

"I love gardening. My garden is my passion. I don`t have one here, but I have a huge one in Pataudi. I like growing things there. I also spend my time doing things for NGOs, I`m the goodwill ambassador for Unicef, etc," said Sharmila, who is married to former cricketer Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi and whose son is the actor Saif Ali Khan.

"We have houses in Pataudi and Bhopal; so I keep busy looking after them...If nothing else, taking care of the road outside. Basically, I don`t want to work in usual roles any more. I want a definite break," said Sharmila, who was last seen in "Morning Walk".

The actress might be wanting a break, but she is now in the midst of promoting her first ever Marathi venture "Samaantar", produced by yesteryears actor Amol Palekar and distributed by Big Pictures. It is set to release Sep 4.

Sharmila plays a middle-aged recluse who comes across her old flame Keshav (Amol), a 60-year-old man who gets so embroiled in the humdrum of life that he has nothing to look forward to on his personal front.

"My character Shama looks like a wounded deer, but she is very creative, makes pottery, plays the violin, she is extremely engaged with life instead of running away from life," she explained.

She admits she was nervous when she took up the role in the film simply because she wasn`t familiar with the language.

"I was very nervous about the language. Marathi is a very rich language and I have read a lot of Marathi stories translated into Hindi or Bengali. Their literature is rich like Bengali and Malayalam. I was really nervous. But my friends in the Marathi industry like Mohan Agashe and Jabbar Patel assured me it was light.

"While working on the film, I didn`t have any problems as I used to take the dialogues before. But then there were few dialogues for my role. Otherwise I wouldn`t have been able to do it. Because I don`t believe you can pick up a language so fast," she said.

It is after 30 years that she has teamed up with Amol and says it was a pleasure working with him and that his style of filmmaking suits her temperament. The last time they shared screen space was for a Bengali film "Mother".

After "Samaantar", Sharmila has just one more movie titled "Life Goes On" - a bilingual movie by debut director Sangeeta Dutta. In this one too she features with veterans like Girish Karnad and Om Puri.

"Then I will be on a total break," she said.
