Fabled actor Aamir Khan goes from hunk to hulk

After wooing us all with his jaw dropping sculpted 8 pack abs, Aamir Khan is out to shock us again. However this time round it’s no buffed up avatar but the massive 7 kgs that the actor has put on which is bound to leave fans dumbstruck. Attending to his wife, who recently suffered a miscarriage, Aamir wasn’t able to pay much attention to his fitness regime.

As per reports, the couple had gone on a month-long holiday to a remote village in Europe to get over the trying time. Nevertheless, back to work, Aamir is pumping iron and playing sports to lose the holiday weight.

According to the latest Bollywood news, Aamir was scheduled to shoot a romantic song with Kareena Kapoor for Raju Hirani’s forthcoming film ‘Three Idiots’. And hoping to look his best, the actor searched for a badminton coach in Europe. But since the sport is not so popular in Europe, the actor had some tough time looking for a suitable coach.

As for the actor’s sudden fascination for badminton, it’s a hidden secret but Aamir feels that it’s the best sport to stay in shape. Besides keeping him fit, the sport is also fun as the actor constantly challenges his colleagues for a friendly game.

Aamir considers playing superhero ‘Hanuman’ in international project!

Small wonder if perfectionist Aamir Khan grows a big tail! The actor, reputed to have undergone transformations in accordance with the demand of a script, may portray the monkey God ‘Hanuman’ in an upcoming movie. According to latest Bollywood news, the actor has liked the project, which also has Hollywood names like Keanu Reeves and Gary Oldman associated with it.The leading actor has to be a martial art expert and knowing Aamir, nothing seems to be difficult for him. The tinsel town is abuzz with the gossip that Sita was to be played by Shilpa Shetty, who has now backed out. Keanu Reeves and Gary Oldman will play Rama and Ravan respectively.

According to sources, the whole project now depends on Aamir`s nod. "Aamir wants to sign every page of the script to ensure no changes happen during shooting. Only then will he agree to play Hanuman."

The film was to be directed by Luis Mandoki of ‘Message In A Bottle’ fame’ but now Chuck Russell (of Eraser, The Mask, The Scorpion King, Mandrake fame) has been roped in for the same. Aamir’s representative Pradeep Guha confirmed the news. "He has been approached. But Aamir will decide only after he reads the script," Guha said.

It is being said that the first schedule of ‘Hanuman’ will be held in Rajasthan and the rest at Hollywood studios.

`3 Idiots` will release on Christmas: Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan, who is spending time with wife Kiran Rao after her miscarriage last month, says his much-awaited `3 Idiots` will hit the screens in December.

"Vinod (Vidhu Vinod Chopra) and Raju (Raj Kumar Hirani) tell me that the post production on `3 Idiots` is progressing well - so by the time I get back, the cut (final product) will be ready. Which means I can confirm to all those of you who have been repeatedly asking... yes, `3 Idiots` will be releasing on Christmas this year. I`ll see the cut once I get back," he wrote on his blog www.aamirkhan.com/blog/.

He didn`t reveal his whereabouts, but informed, "Kiran and I are away from home, in one very quiet spot, just lying in and resting. Reading, going for walks, watching films."

The actor says he is utilising his time to catch up on a few films and books - something that he hasn`t been able to do thanks to his chock-a-block schedules.

"There are so many films to see, and books to read. One life time is not enough. Books, I read, but films I never get down to seeing.

"Strange, since, I love cinema so much. It`s not as if I don`t enjoying watching films. I really do, in fact when I watch a film I forget to blink and my eyes start hurting after a while. But for someone who is so steeped in films I have watched pathetically few films in all these years," he said.

Aamir is glad that he has finally managed to watch 1994 American film "The Shawshank Redemption", which was recommended to him by many.

"Just saw `(The) Shawshank Redemption`. Had heard so much about this film. It seems to be on a lot of ? must see` lists. Really enjoyed it," he added.

Shah Rukh, Aamir in contention for prestigious National Awards

According to the latest B-town news, two of the biggest Bollywood superstars, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, are in contention for National Awards in the ‘Best Actor’ category. While SRK has been nominated for his role as hockey coach Kabir Khan in ‘Chak De India’, Aamir Khan is in the running for his performance as Art teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh in the critically acclaimed flick ‘Taare Zameen Par’.

Not just that, being the director and producer of ‘Taare Zameen Par’, Aamir Khan’s film has also been nominated in the ‘Best Film’ category for the same. Grapevine has it that Darsheel Safari is being considered for the Best child actor award for his performance as the dyslexic Ishaan Awasthi in ‘TZP’.

On the other hand, Shah Rukh`s home production, ‘Om Shanti Om’ has been nominated for a National Award for ‘Best Feature Film’ in the entertainment category. Reports reveal that this award was previously won by Aamir for ‘Lagaan’, in 2001.

I&B Minister Ambika Soni is likely to announce the National Awards next week and President Pratibha Patil is scheduled to give away the awards in Delhi in October this year.

Aamir Khan uses a false name on Facebook!

For all those who thought that Aamir Khan had limited his internet interactions to his blog, there’s news. Buzz has it that Aamir is apparently an active member of all the major social networking sites, including - Facebook, Orkut and Twitter, it’s just that he uses a pseudonym there to hide his identity.

According to reports, in order to understand the behavioural patterns of the youth, Aamir has taken up the pains of signing onto numerous social networking websites and what’s more is that it lets him have his privacy too. The actor has been apparently interacting with everyone under a pseudonym on the social networking websites. Aamir prefers to have a completely different identity to chat with people and know them better.

“Aamir is quite hooked to websites like Orkut, Facebook and Twitter. It is, rather was, his best kept secret. He has a common pseudonym for all these websites. People often try to track him online but since he doesn’t use his original name, they think Aamir isn’t much into social networking. Aamir tries to peek into young minds by making friends online and interacting with them to learn more about them. He is especially keen to know how the youth reacts to various subjects related to politics, films, social issues, sports and other fields,” says a source.

Aamir to Portray Lal Bahadur Shastri

The veteran actor-director-producer Manoj Kumar who is well known for patriotism has come up with one more historical script based on patriotism. The script is based on life of third Prime Minister of independent India and great leader Lal Bahadur Shastri. According to reports, he is thinking Aamir Khan for the role.

Earlier also Manoj had written one script for Amitabh Bachchan in mind. But project was shelved due to busy schedule of Big B. This time his script is for Mr. Perfect. Now all depend on Aamir whether film will go on the floor. Even it happens we have to wait for couple of years to watch the film as Aamir likes to study the character to get into the skin of the role.

Aamir, Akshay, Hrithik to vie for AXN action award

Bollywood stars Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan are in the race to bag the best actor award at the AXN Action Awards. While Aamir has been nominated for "Ghajini", Akshay is in contention for "Tashan" and Hrithik for "Jodhaa Akbar". "'Ghajini' is a film that required a lot of aggression that exposes the basic crude emotion of human loss. I'm honoured to be nominated in the best action actor category, as the action in the film is more complex and thought provoking, showcasing anger, vengeance and physical violence," said Aamir in a statement. In the best actor in a negative role category, the competition is between Imran Khan for "Kidnap", Saif Ali Khan for "Race"and Kay Kay Menon for "Drona". "'Race' is a thoroughbred action film, complete with flamboyance and panache. I enjoyed performing the stunts and watching the movie evolve into a suave piece of cinema. I am thrilled to be nominated for my role," he said. The results will depend on public voting which is now open. Aamir’s wife suffers miscarriage

Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao suffered from a miscarriage a few days, according to Aamir who released this news on his blog.

Aamir wrote on his blog,”I have bad news folks. Kiran and I lost our baby. Despite our best efforts we were unable to avert a miscarriage. The last two months have been a struggle for us and that is one of the reasons I was absent from the blog in more ways than one. I need time to heal. I will be away for a while.”

Kiran was three months pregnant when she suffered a miscarriage.
