Renee Zellweger insists age plays no role in her acting career

American actress Renee Zellweger has revealed that she does not believe getting older will affect her acting career, as with her quirky appearance she will always be offered acting roles.

Zellweger, who turned 40 in April this year, was asked whether she noticed that the more exciting roles were drying up, and she replied that she didn’t.

“It’s so hard to comment because I don’t see it. I don’t know. I’m so spoiled with respect to the experiences I’ve had and the opportunities I’ve had that I don’t see it,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

“I’ve never been that girl who is dependant on how fabulous my hair is or my stature or that I look good in order to work. So I don’t really think about it in those terms,” she said.

The actress insists that the only bad thing about turning 40 is that people are expecting her to feel differently about life.

“I’m so sad that everyone keeps pointing to this birthday, ‘You had this birthday, how do you feel now?’ I’m thinking, ‘I feel nothing different’,” she added.

Renee Zellweger meets Bradley Cooper’s parents

Renee Zellweger’s relationship with Bradley Cooper seems to be heating up, for the actress has met his parents.

The couple was first snapped out in public together last month (Aug09), when Zellweger and Cooper escaped for a low-key break in Barcelona, Spain.

However, after coming back, the ‘Hangover’ star whisked Zellweger off to his native Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to introduce her to his mum and dad.

"Brad and Renee drove from New York to Philly so he could show her off to his parents and old friends. They fell in love with her,” Contactmusic quoted a source as telling National Enquirer.

"Renee poured on her Texas charm, even arriving with flowers and a box of cupcakes she picked up at a local bakery for his parents.

"Hours after the visit, Bradley`s family was on the phone with him, gushing about Renee," the source added.

Cooper is planning to move from Los Angeles to the Big Apple to be closer to his new girlfriend.

The insider adds, "Bradley is already talking about putting down roots in New York, where Renee lives. They just seem happy to have found each other."

Cops say Renee Zellweger was charming following car accident

Bridget Jones star Renee Zellweger reportedly displayed her charming side to the cops she called for help after her silver Mercedes off-roader was hit by a wrong-way driver in Beverly Hills.

The officer and two colleagues were said to have dashed to the 40-year-old actress’ side after she phoned, and were relieved to find that she was fine and only her car dented.

Police Lieutenant Tony Lee confirmed that the crash was not Zellweger’s fault, and said that the actress had been charming to deal with.

“A green Ford Explorer made an illegal U-turn in front of her silver Mercedes,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

“Ms Zellweger was not injured. The damage to her car was very minor. She was very polite and sincere,” he added.

Actress Renee Zellweger, who had a minor car accident Monday, has walked away from the scene unscathed, an officer said.She was involved in a minor car accident in Beverly Hills Monday when a green Ford Explorer made an illegal U-turn, Lt. Tony Lee of the Beverly Hills Police Department revealed.

Renee was travelling alone in her silver Mercedes, reported aceshowbiz.com.

"Ms. Zellweger was not injured, the damage to her car was very minor. She was very polite and sincere," Lee said.

The actress was married to country music singer Kenny Chesney from May to December 2005. While Cooper was married to actress Jennifer Esposito in December 2006. Four months later they split before then having their divorce finalised in November 2007.

Meanwhile, Cooper brought his parents instead of Zellweger to `Charmed` star Alyssa Milano`s wedding in New Jersey.

Hollywood has been abuzz with romance rumours between the Academy winning actress and the `Hangover` star.

The couple had looked relaxed and cosy as they strolled through their hotel with 34-year-old Bradley placing a reassuring hand on her behind, while a smiling Zellwegger put
her hand into his back pocket.

But it looks like the couple who are set to star in two films together this year have ended their romance along with the holiday.
