Brad Pitt spends £50,000 building a bespoke run for kids’ gerbil

Brad Pitt’s passion for architecture knows no bounds, and even when it comes to customizing a run for his children’s gerbils, the hunk doesn’t mind spending a cool 50,000 pounds.

The 45-year-old star personally oversaw the whole venture at his family`s French estate.

The run has a web of tunnels, seesaws, and platforms that make it the most luxurious home for rodents.

"Brad pores over architectural journals like other people pore over newspapers. He had so much fun putting the run together with his kids Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh and Pax,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

"It`s incredibly complex and cost a lot but Brad`s more than happy with any activity that can combine his two passions - his kids and architecture," the source added.

The ‘Inglourious Basterds’ star has always had a penchant for architecture, and even had an informal apprenticeship with Frank Gehry, the renowned architect, in 2005.

Pitt has also engaged himself in designing a development for the seafront in Hove, East Sussex, but the project is still unfinished.

Jolie orders Pitt to either check into rehab or leave her

A furious Angelina Jolie has reportedly warned Brad Pitt to check into rehab, if he wants their relationship to continue.

The ‘Tomb Raider’ star recently discovered that Pitt, with whom she raises six children, had secretly shared hashish with Quentin Tarantino.

That did not go down well with her, and she ordered the ‘Troy’ star to either check into rehab or leave her.

"Stop boozing and smoking drugs or check into rehab!" News.com.au quoted a source as narrating what Angelina told Brad.

Brad was a self-confessed stoner when married to Jennifer Aniston.

But he had promised Angelina that his drug-using days were over after he became a dad, and she believed him, said the insider.

However, during a recent interview with shock jock Howard Stern, ‘Inglourious Basterds’ director Tarantino revealed that he had smoked hash with Brad when he travelled to France to convince him to do the film.

"Tarantino’s interview allowed Angie to catch Brad getting high, and she exploded," the source told the National Enquirer.

"She gave him a choice - give it up or get out!

"She made it very clear that she didn’t want drugs anywhere near their kids and she said that this was an issue where there weren’t any other options open to him if he wanted their relationship to continue.

"The same went for his drinking: Go to rehab - or leave,” added the source.

Brad Pitt visits urban development project in Spain

US actor Brad Pitt, who has created a foundation to promote rebuilding in hurricane-wracked New Orleans, has visited the northern Spanish town of Aviles to study the possibility of taking part in an urban development project there.Pitt, who Monday toured the works of the Oscar Niemeyer International Cultural Center, said he was "enthusiastic" about the innovative Island of Innovation project and showed special interest in "everything that has to do with sustainability".

The centre is the first project in Spain by Brazilian architect Niemeyer.

Pitt was also accompanied by the director of the Oscar Niemeyer Foundation, Natalio Grueso, and Aviles culture secretary Mercedes Alvarez.

"He`s interested in supporting the project in both its cultural and architectural aspects," the mayor said, adding that they have talked of "possible ties" whose details will be determined over time.

Varela said that "a fundamental part" of one of the actor`s architectural projects in New Orleans is "sustainability" and he has said that this is what he is particularly looking for at the Island of Innovation, most of which will be operational by July 2010.

Brad and I have a very cordial relationship, says Jennifer

Actress Jennifer Aniston says she has a very cordial relationship with her ex-hubby Brad Pitt.

“In contrast to what people say, Brad and I have a very cordial relationship,” the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

“I admire him a lot for what he is doing to help other people and I think he’s an extraordinary actor,” she added.

The former ‘Friends’ star says she’s leading a happy life even after she and Pitt divorced four years ago.

Pitt is now with actress Angelina Jolie, and they have six children.

Jolie has ‘sentenced’ Brad to sleep on the couch

An angry Angelina Jolie has ‘sentenced’ Brad Pitt to sleep on the couch after learning that he still smokes pot, sources say.

The glamorous couple apparently had a heated row over the issue and blamed her partner’s ex Jennifer Aniston for his addiction to marijuana.

“Ange says it`s Jen`s fault Brad is still smoking pot, since the bulk of his drug-taking days were when he was with her,” the Daily Telegraph quoted a source as telling National Enquirer.

The insider added: "She`s angry and looking for someone to blame, so Jen is always going to be a prime target."

Seemingly, the ‘Original Sin’ actress feels that she has been lied to about many things.

The source revealed: "Angie, feeling she`s been totally lied to, is piecing together all the other things Brad`s not been truthful to her about and come up with a fairly long list."

However, both have jetted to France this week to work on their relationship, according to OK! Weekly.

Jolie, Pitt encouraging 3-year-old daughter to act

Shiloh, who is said to be one of the most famous celebrity children in tinseltown, wants to follow footsteps of her star parents -- Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt -- who are encouraging her to become an actress.

Dailystar.co.uk reports that the three-year-old Shiloh told friends: "I want to do what mummy and daddy do." The couple is now thinking of signing her up for acting classes.

"Shiloh`s a mix of the two best-looking actors in the world -- she was born to be a star. Brad and Angie were worried about her interest in acting, however they vow to let their kids pursue their dreams. They`re thinking about enrolling her in a performing arts school. Shiloh is the most famous child in tinseltown and was the first baby to get a waxwork at Madame Tussaud`s -- she even has a Twitter page in her honour," said an insider.

"Brad and Angie can`t help notice how Shiloh constantly poses in the mirror," added the source.

Brad Pitt has no plans to team-up with Angelina Jolie

Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt has revealed that he has no plans to collaborate with partner and actress Angelina Jolie on the big screen again until there comes a "new, challenging" story.

Hollywood`s hottest couple said to have fallen in love after appearing in `Mr & Mrs Smith` together in 2005, while the hunk was still married to `Friends` star Jennifer Aniston.

Since then, they have set up home together and a family with six children - three adopted and three biological kids, Contactmusic reported.

But despite the fact they could spend more time together on-set, Pitt said that he wouldn`t be too keen on jumping into another film with Jolie.

"It would be tricky for us to work together because so much baggage comes with it. We would have to be really precise on what that would be but we are certainly open to the idea," Pitt said.

"You`re always looking for something a little different to what you`ve done before. I`m just looking for a new challenge, a new story. I can`t define it much more than that," he added.

A French chateau for Pitt and Jolie - for 45 mn pounds!

Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are spending 45 million pounds transforming a French chateau into a dream home for themselves and their six children.

The pair have completed the purchase of the 35 million pound 17th-century Chateau Miraval, set on a 1,000-acre estate in Provence and now they plan to splash out 10 million pounds more turning the pile into the "love nest of all love nests", reports a news website.

They have applied to renovate all 35 bedrooms to give them a "contemporary feel" and want to add jacuzzis, steam rooms and a spa, and to install a new gym, an expanded wine cellar - and even a motorbike track for Pitt, 45.

They also plan to improve its helicopter landing facilities, so they can fly in and out with their children - Maddox, seven, Pax, five, four-year old Zahara, and biological daughter Shiloh, three, and their year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

"We`re trying to spend more time in the South of France, because our kids have a more normal life there," said Pitt.

He also admitted he`s still struggling to master the language.

Security around the house will be improved hugely, to include a surveillance centre, spy cameras, alarms, and infra-red sensors.

The property comes with a vineyard, swimming pool, moat, lake and forest, and a three-mile long driveway up to the main house.

The cascading stone-walled terraces have been replanted with 13 different varieties of olives, and there are 20 fountains and aqueducts.

The globe-trotting couple will split their time between France and their homes in California and New Orleans.

‘Desperate’ Pitt wants to be single from Jolie!

Brad Pitt desperately wants to leave Angelina Jolie and family life, it has emerged.

The Hollywood star, who raises 6 children with the stunner, apparently wants to live life as a bachelor, reports The Daily Telegraph.

"He can’t let go of his bachelor lifestyle," a source told Britain’s Now magazine.

"He’s even looking at luxury flats in the Hollywood Hills to escape the kids and Ange,” the source added.

According to the source, it’s the couple’s PR machine which is keeping them together.

"Ange and her manager Geyer Kosinski carefully control her image,” explains the source.

"When Brad dumped Jen, to stop Ange looking like the scarlet woman she was flown to Pakistan and pictured helping refugees.

"When she sold the first photos of the twins to People magazine, it had to highlight her missionary work. She sometimes asks Brad what he thinks, but he’s mostly seen and not heard,” the insider added.

Brad Pitt says he does not have to be a Nazi to beat `ass`

Brad Pitt has confessed that he loves to kick others’ “ass” when he is in the mood for it.

The “Inglourious Basterds” actor, who plays one of the main protagonists in the film set in Nazi-occupied France during World War II, said he still lies to give in to “kicking ass period”.

“I just like kicking ass period. Didn`t have to be Nazi I can beat any ass. Any ass I like kicking. I just kick it,” Fox News quoted him as saying.

The star further said he had become “a little tougher” and now walks with “a little more swagger” since starring as an American commando out to demoralize the Nazi regime in the film.

Brad Pitt replaces Downy Jr in Superhero film

Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt and funnyman Will Ferell have stepped in to rescue superhero film `Oobermind` after actor Robert Downey Jr quit the project.

Downy Jr had signed up to extend his comic book credentials with a turn as an animated supervillain who wipes out his archenemy, only to find life quite boring without an adversary to battle, Moviehole.net reported.

He recently recently walked out on the film due to "scheduling conflicts", leaving the project in jeopardy.

But the movie, directed by Tom McGrath, has been given a new lease of life after producers signed up Pitt and Ferrell to provide the voices for the main characters.

Comedic actor Jonah Hill has also joined the project. The film is slated for release in December 2010.

Pitt left smoking pot for kidS

Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt played a pot smoker in 1993`s `True Romance` and admits life imitated art for him until just recently.

"I certainly had my day," Pitt, 45 said in an interview to a news channel when the reporter called the actor`s role "one of the best stoner performances."

A channel`s Bill Maher recounted a New Year`s Eve party at which he says he witnessed Pitt rolling "the most perfect" joints he had ever seen to which Pitt replied "I`m an artist."

However the `Inglourious Basterds` actor said that he kicked the habit for his six kids -- Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne, whom he has with partner actress Angelina Jolie.

"I`m a dad now. You want to be alert and my eyes used to glaze over when I did that," he told Maher.

Pitt, Jolie get in argument over burial space

Brad Pitt has said that he is stuck with his pledge not to marry girlfriend Angelina Jolie until same-sex marriages were made legal across the US.

The Hollywood heartthrob, who shares six kids with the actress, had vowed three years ago not to tie the knot until gay couples in America could also wed, a possibility only in six of the country’s 50 states.

And now the actor, who has who has campaigned for gay rights, admits he may have spoken too soon.
