Arjun Rampal brings in Shah Rukh, Hrithik for restaurant launch

Actor Arjun Rampal who launched his new restaurant `Lap` in Delhi on Friday, made sure that the opening was a star studded affair with none other than Bollywood`s Badshah Shah Rukh Khan on the guest list along with superstar Hrithik Roshan. The glamour quotient was further upped by the spouses of the megastars, Gauri Khan and Susanne Roshan, who were at their fashionable best.

Of late, Aditya Chopra who is looking over the overseas YRF empire and is excited to direct ‘Dhoom 3’ with his favorite Khan - Shah Rukh Khan.

Apart from it, Abhishek Backchan and Uday Chopra once again will be seen in action as the tough cop Jay Dixit and happy-go-lucky Ali respectively.

No Hrithik or Abhishek yet for `Agneepath` remake: Karan Johar

There have been speculations about who will play the male lead in the remake of the 1990 hit ‘Agneepath’. While the names of Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan popped up, filmmaker Karan Johar clarifies that no one has been finalised to play the part Amitabh Bachchan immortalised in the original.

"I haven`t made any statement whatsoever around the man who would eventually be playing the role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan that was made iconic by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. All I have said is that, yes, we are going ahead with a remake of `Agneepath` and that`s about it," Johar told reporters.

Whether it is Hrithik, Abhishek or someone else, Johar must be having a wish list?

"Well, the wish list is to get the screenplay right. For the moment nothing else is more important than that," he said.

Even though the film is being produced under the banner of Dharma Productions, Johar won`t be going behind the camera for the movie.

"True, I would be stepping aside and the film would be directed by Karan Malhotra, who has assisted me on `My Name Is Khan`. That`s the only thing which has been finalised... everything else you hear is mere speculation. We will finalise the cast once the script is locked. Currently, it is still in the process of being written," he added.

Malhotra is not really a novice when it comes to filmmaking. He has earlier worked as an assistant director with Ashutosh Gowariker on "Jodhaa Akbar", Farah Khan on "Main Hoon Na", Farhan Akhtar on "Lakshya" and Raj Kumar Santoshi "Lajja and Pukar" amongst others.

Since it is close to two decades since the release of "Agneepath", would the remake have a different milieu to it?

"Certainly! We are adapting the film from the original, but ours would be a new age version that would fit in well with today`s time. We really hope that we are able to do justice to the original and make the remake exciting for today`s generation," Johar said.

Dharma Productions, meanwhile, has as many as seven films that are in different stages of production. These are "My Name Is Khan", "Wake Up Sid", "Kurbaan", "Koochie Koochie Hota Hai", remakes of Hollywood flick "Stepmom" and "Agneepath" and "I Hate Love Stories".

How is he managing it all?

"Believe me, it`s not difficult at all. All you have to do is to follow a three-point mantra - delegation, outsourcing and trust. Along with that, if you have the right vision and infrastructure in place, which we do have in Dharma Productions, it isn`t difficult to crack it all.

"That`s the way you manage things and I have been fortunate enough to have a team with which it has become possible to helm a number of projects at the same time," said Johar.

Among the seven films, three are ready to hit the screens.

"`Wake Up Sid` is all set to arrive on Oct 2. `Kurbaan` will come in late November. Other than that, we are looking at an early 2010 release for `My Name Is Khan`. Yes, these have been busy and really exciting times," the filmmaker said.

Vivek meets up old mate Hrithik, avoids Aishwarya!

Once madly in love with ethereal Aishwarya Rai, Vivek Oberoi is a changed man these days! Now, when Aishwarya Rai has become a Bachchan bahu, the ghost of his past still haunt Vivek as the actor leaves no stones unturned to stay away from his ex-flame.

According to the latest buzz, Vivek Oberoi recently visited the sets of ‘Guzaarish’ only when Aishwarya left the place. B-town gossip has it that Vivek came to the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s latest flick at Mehboob Studios.

Story goes that Vivek came in to meet his old pal Hrithik Roshan and the two guys chatted for more than two hours. But all this bonhomie happened only after Aishwarya had left the movie set.

Talking about the incident a source told a news daily, “Vivek was doing a photo shoot at Mehboob Studios for ‘Kurbaan’ with Saif and Kareena. While packing up in the evening, he learnt that his good friend Hrithik too was shooting in the same studio. So he thought of catching up with him. However, when Vivek learnt that Hrithik was shooting for ‘Guzaarish,’ he contemplated whether he should pop in. He was apprehensive as he did not want to come face-to-face with Aishwarya, whom he was once dating. Only when he confirmed that Aishwarya was not present on the sets, did he go to meet Hrithik.”

The source further maintained, “Both Hrithik and Vivek have not been in touch with each other due to their professional commitments. Of late, they have only met each other at social events and parties, so they had a lot of catching up to do. They chatted about everything, from their films to personal lives, for almost two hours. Even Bhansali joined in their conversation.”

Hrithik Roshan offers help to paraplegics

Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan was so moved after meeting people affected with paraplegia while researching for his role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s ‘Guzaarish’ that he has decided to help them in whatever way he can.

Hrithik is playing a paraplegic in ‘Guzaarish’ and met patients to be able to get under the skin of his character. While meetings the patients helped him understand his character better, it also left a deep impact on his mind.

"Hrithik is taking his role very seriously and has been reading a lot on paraplegia and watching videos to understand and study their mannerisms and behaviour. In fact, he even visited several people affected by the disease to get a first hand account of their experiences," said a source close to the actor.

"The intensive study and frequent interactions with people suffering from the disorder have moved Hrithik to a great extent. He came across some young, talented people who were left incapacitated due to paraplegia and he immediately decided to do his bit to help them," added the source.

Aishwarya Rai is playing female lead in the film.

Hrithik Roshan practices one-hour speech therapy daily

With his Greek god looks, sculpted physique matched with a charming personality and a toned up torso, Hrithik Roshan might be the ideal mate ladies would vouch for. But the actor who has wooed us all with his killer looks and dazzling performances has some dark secrets marring his perfectionism. Shocking as it may seem, it has now emerged that Hrithik practices speech therapy for one hour every day for he fears that he might begin stammering again. For those who are stunned, let us inform you that the actor used to stammer from the age of six and it was only after intense speech therapy classes that he overcame the flaws in his speech.

Speaking about his speech problems on Farah Khan’s show Tere Mere Beech Mein, Hrithik said, “I would repeat the alphabets A-Z in all the different forms. I remember once, I had even practiced for 36 hours so, I could tell my cook what I wanted to eat."

What’s more is that this is the first time that Hrithik has ever spoken so elaborately about his problem. Speaking to Farah, the actor openly talked about the troubles he had faced while growing up, as well as when he was in the industry, due to his speech worries.

"I was getting the Best Debut Actor for my first movie in Dubai and I wanted to say, `I love you Dubai` in my speech in the award function. But I couldn`t say `Dubai`. I wanted to practice saying `Dubai` but for that I had to scream Dubai loudly. I couldn`t do that in my hotel room because my voice was being heard outside. I went to the bathroom and yelled `Dubai` but even then, it could be heard by people outside. Thankfully, there was a big cupboard in the room. I locked myself up in the cupboard and practiced saying `Dubai.` Finally, at the awards function, I was able to say that with a flow", he added.

Hrithik is wheelchair-bound

That Hrithik Roshan is a perfectionist is a well-known fact. After pulling off performances as diverse as a physically challenged protagonist in Koi Mil Gaya, a superhero in Krrish, and a proud-yet-soft emperor in Jodhaa Akbar with utmost ease. Now Hrithik has taken on the daunting task of playing a wheelchair-bound paraplegic in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Guzaarish. To play the performance to a T, the actor has been moving around his house in a wheelchair to prepare for the role. A source close to the star says, "Hrithik feels that Guzaarish is one of the toughest roles that he has landed and wants to be thoroughly prepared for the challenge. It is not easy for any actor to sit and act throughout the film in a wheelchair." Besides, one has to deliver the exact emotions and movements that such a person has so as to not caricaturise that persons disability. Hence, Hrithik has bound himself in a wheelchair at home. Whenever he is around, he is sitting on his wheelchair and roaming around the house. Besides eating and reading while sitting on the wheelchair, he also plays with his children while on the wheelchair." The informer further says, "For hours he practises in front of the mirror while on the wheelchair. Apparently, he even wants to try coming down the stairs in his wheelchair." While Hrithik remained unavailable for comment (insiders say he cant talk about the project at all), when we contacted his father Rakesh even he chose to remain mum neither confirming nor denying the news.

Ash saves Hrithik a 'date'!

Aishwarya was down with fever and could have done with a day off. But out of consideration for co-star Hrithik Roshan, she slogged through the day, instead of resting while shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish. Apparently, she didn’t want Hrithik to waste his dates.

Despite being sick, she was asked to report to the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish and she did not throw any tantrums. The unit expected her to report a bit late, but she arrived a few minutes before the scheduled time.

A unit member said, “Aishwarya was down with fever for two days. She carried on shooting despite her poor health to make it convenient for Hrithik as it was the last two days of his first schedule and she didn’t want to waste his dates.”
