Overworked Amitabh Bachchan goes on a self-imposed sabbatical

The recent illness of his good friend Amar Singh has forced Amitabh Bachchan to view his own well-being and take a self imposed break in order to calm his nerves. With a series of flicks lined up Big B’s popularity quotient beats that of many young guns in Bollywood. But the actor, who had been delivering non-stop hits, has now wisely decided to go slow and take a much-deserved sabbatical from his work.
Known for punctuality and zest for his art, this is the first time in years that Big B has decided to go slow. But though the actor might have resolved to take it easy as he renders support to his pal in Singapore, filmmakers back home are keenly waiting for his return.

One of the leading producers awaiting Mr Bachchan’s return is Pritish Nandy. The superstar will be seen playing himself in Nandy’s film ‘Actor’.

Set to go on the floors after Bachchan’s return from Singapore, the film is said touted to hit screens next year. But unlike other producers who would have thrown fits over Bachchan’s sudden sabbatical, Nandy was much too glad to see Amitabh relax.

Speaking to a news daily, Nandy said, “Amar Singh has recuperated as much he could, considering the seriousness of his illness. But Mr Bachchan seems in no mood to leave his friend’s side right away. It’s almost like he has withdrawn into a cocoon for a while. And we at Pritish Nandy Communications have no problem waiting for Mr Bachchan. It’s wonderful to see him so relaxed and stress-free after years.”
