`Legally Blonde` star Reese Witherspoon recently did a bit of charity by paying for a troubled woman`s grocery bill.
The 33-year-old Hollywood beauty took pity on a stressed mother at a store in Los Angeles, who had forgotten to carry her wallet and paid her bill, reported Contactmusic.
Witherspoon, who is a mother of two children with former husband Ryan Phillippe, sympathised with the fact that kids make situations tough for a mother.
"Reese knows that kids make you lose your mind. When she spotted a harried mom who had forgotten her wallet she picked up the tab," a source said.
"The woman was so flustered and embarrassed. But Reese said she would gladly take care of the USD 70 bill and no apology was necessary.
"She told the mom, `I understand, I have kids too!`" the source added.
Witherspoon, who has a nine-year-old daughter Ava and son Deacon, five, is currently dating actor Jake Gyllenhaal.
